Love PG27UCDM, audio is defective?

First off, holy moly I should have gotten this monitor sooner. I wish my months of research turned into just 10 minutes of going to the store to get it.

My setup issue is with Xbox series X and Switch 2. My speakers are Bose Companion 2.0.

I came from a Samsung Odyssey G5 1440p. I’ve been playing the battlefield 6 beta and got the PG27 UCDM this weekend and hooked it up. Blown away but…the audio is so quiet. I made sure sound is set to 100 in the OSD but I still need to crank my speakers up to 75% vs ~30% with the Samsung. The audio is also SUPER flat, night and day difference between them, so I’m thinking it’s either a defective or just bad quality DAC in the monitor.

I thought the jack was defective until I cranked up the OSD setting, but it’s still notably quiet and also pretty flat. Im thinking ASUS cheaped out on the DAC…has anyone else experience this?? For such an expensive monitor I expect no compromises and I’m thinking I might have a defect as the monitor is advertised as Xbox and PS5 ready, so this is surprising.

if this is a known issue, would a DACole the creative X3 help, or is the signal coming out already not great?
