Hi
I am gona buy a new monitor and i have some questions, so i am gona buy the best.
ASUS MG279Q or ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q ( both IPS)
ASUS MG279Q - Freesync (cheapest)
ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q - G sync (cost more)
I am using 2 x 970 gtx sli and im sticking with Nvidia, so yes in the future i might buy a bigger gtx card or 2 x Sli
What monitor should i buy ?
Is the G sync worth it ?
- There is something about the hz i dont understand and need to be explained.
Regarding Fps and hz, I heard that G sync cant play games in 144 hz because it locks the game around 40-90 hz or something like that ¿?
But freesync runs on 144 even if i cant use the freesync, but playing games over 100 hz then you cant see the screen tearing ?
Im confused here..i have been reading and seen to much info on these screens..
Please enlught me before black friday
Thx
Not sure what youve heard about the 144hz not working with G-sync......That is completely false as far as I know maybe it was just worded wrong and you interpreted wierd or something. Im running my PG279Q no problem with G-sync on and hitting 130-165 on Gears of war 4 on ultra with no issues. The issue you might see on some games is when you turn on V-sync in the game settings. If I do that I lose like 40-50 FPS on Gears. Others games it doesn't have any effect with v-sync on or off. If you are using G-sync though im pretty sure V-sync setting should be turned off in game as your Monitor is already going to match with the GPU.
Enough about that though. If you are sticking with Nvidia then I would stick with G-sync. makes any fps from 70-165 feel smooth with no jumpy frames or what not. But wait doesnt free-sync do that same blahblahblahblah....you get what you pay for. I would read this article on g-sync vs free-sync...it explains a lot and is as accurate as I have seen
http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidia-g-sync-or-amd-freesync-pick-a-side-and-stick-with-it/ go into how g-sync and free-sync actually effect your card and what not.
