Hi,
following up on my initial post on my Asus RoG XG49WCR on how the monitor's firmware could not be updated:
After a lot of conversation and many attempts with extra firmware packages delivered to me by Customer support and other attempts with different computers to run the update on, customer support concluded, that the monitor was faulty and replaced it.
The replacement could be updated by the USB-Stick method from M101 to M104 (the regular wired method didn't work either).
Just to let you guys know.
