Black borders on new Asus PG248Q

2 weeks ago I got my Asus PG248Q and after a few days I noticed black borders around the screen which don't go away (check the screenshots), so I contacted ASUS support about it and they told me to RMA the monitor. RMA got accepted so today I have received the new monitor but the issue still persists on the new monitor. i saw photos on the forum with a similar issue, surely this can't be right? I would like to hear your input about this.

Thanks in advance!

That is normal IMO. The bezel is not designed to go to edge of active area of display panel, I see this on 3 MG279Q I have (differing panel, but similar cabinet). Depending how a photo is taken and what is on display on screen you may not notice it in review or members photos of monitor.

This review photo does show the border and this one, but not this photo by an owner. In the owners photo only near the top bezel about center can you note inactive area of panel. The other areas near bezel don't show border due to how the photo has been taken.

Alright thank you for the answer, it's not that annoying but I was just a bit worried that I may have received a faulty unit.

Nope not faulty 🙂 . Surprised RMA got accepted though.

Have you checked your GPU Scaling? Not sure if it's the same black borders, but on the NVIDIA control panel, you need to have the Scaling mode selected to full-Screen, in the "Adjust Desktop Size and Position" options.

Yes I already tried that but that didn't help 😕

Yea it just depends on what monitor you have. some have a larger "deadspace" before the bezel than others. and as already said I would have just tried messing with the settings for my GPU scaling and see if it changes or not. a majority of the time it is what it is.
