So I received my XG27AQNGV 360 hz Pulsar display with great anticipation a couple of days ago.
I compare it to my "old" 300 hz IPS panel, which has a VRB strobe implementation that works really well.
Thing is, I can't see a difference in motion clarity at 120 fps, with Pulsar on or off, its just blurry as per normal with just 120 fps. I have seen a handful of reviews, and they all say this Pulsar tech should make 120 fps feel like perhaps even 360 fps in motion clarity. But the blur is real. I can't see a difference in 120 fps comparing it to my old monitor at 120 hz as well.
Bumping the fps and frequency to 240 or 360 hz makes a huge difference, and it is just as fluid as my old monitor.
I am a sweaty FPS player, and I noticed a huge jump in clarity going from 165 to 300 hz, so I can perceive good FPS and Hz.
I took a photo at 1/1000s shutter speed at the 2 monitors with and without strobing (VRB and Pulsar) enabled, and it is obvious to the camera lens, when the strobe techs are engaged. So I am clueless why I am not seeing any benefit of this Pulsar tech at low or even high fps / hz.
No Strobe engaged on the Acer XV272UKF and the XG27AQNGV No strobe tech @ 300 and 360 hz
VRB Strobe and Pulsar @ 300 / 360 hzVRB and Pulsar @ 300 / 360 hz
VRB Strobe and Pulsar @ 120 hz
VRB and Pulsar @ 120 / 120 hz

So I just want to clear the confusion I created, it seems that if you view the monitor from a iphone camera held horizontally, the lines will also be, horizontal. Go figure. So my monitor does make the correct strobe lines.

I haven't tried anything at 120hz. I'll give it try tonight and see how it goes on mine.

So, I looked at all the video reviews I could find, and Battlenonsense has uploadet video of how the strobing looks on his unit, and the pattern is horizontal lines, not diagonal like mine. So that is a difference which might explain my experience?Strobing on BattleNonsese review
