Planning on installing my new SSD tomorrow and was about to download the Windows 7 install disks but the link I have is stuffed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Wanting a legit copy as using the key under the laptop to activate

after the home premium copy

Cheers

A clean install is a generic Windows installation + the essential drivers for your machine. It doesn't include anything else you don't choose to add yourself, so all those Asus programs commonly known as "bloatware" are never installed on the system to begin with. In most cases, this kind of installation results in optimal performance.

There are certainly owners who want the Asus programs. In that case, a factory restore may be a more efficient option (if they need to reinstall for any reason).

If you are happy with your current setup and everything's running smoothly, there's no pressing need to change anything.

i am really happy with how my g74sx-bbk8 is performing , im just curious if a clean install would give me a better performance, this were my steps

1=i deleted all bloatware , just left windows ,the drivers , did all the updates for windows in my hard drive and downloaded Acronis...

2= then i cloned my hardrive to my ssd and thats how i been using it ever since with no problems what so ever...

just on a simple note , cloning the hard drive using Acronis Migrate (demo) it was really easy and FREE ,i would recommend it to every one ...

Well, i guess clean install is kinda personal preference. Like what our friendly guru aka BrodyBoy emphasized

For me, i certainly do preferred a clean install nothing no ASUS software at all lol although i work for them >.<
