Will g752 have the legit GTX 980 (not m) ??

Hey guys, will the G752 have the legit GTX 980 (not m) video card that's going around? Or will it still be the 980m + gsync. I kinda figured the newest G752 would have the latest mobile graphics as well. Can't seem to find any info that suggests it being anything but the 980m

No, the GTX 980 would run too hot for it. It can only work (without throttling) in the water-cooled GX700.

Basing on all current info we have about G752 from IFA & intel from some taiwanese who have actually seen sample G752 in their local stores it's most likely that it will be 980m. But you never know since 980 in laptops were announced only after IFA has finished.(although people already knew about GX700 having 990m=980 due to spec leaks) I think they could still put 980 in 752JY or whatever high end version they plan to offer, or it could turn out to be something like G-sync story of 751. Launch 752 with 980m then later make a refreshed version with 980.

New hardware is usually announced along with products that carry it - in reality the thing has been produced for months, so that PC maufacaturers can implement it into their designs.
The idea is that the G752 will have a 4/8GB GTX980M and the GX700 will carry the GTX980 notebook version.

I'll definitely be the 980M simply because of heat alone.

Laptops with the 980 desktop won't survive long, or will be forced to throttle. ':f

And the GX700 with the watercooling case? THAT is the point I'd draw the line and consider a desktop.

GTX 980 is old enough where I think the mature silicon pieces will be able to maintain almost the same power envelope that the 980m is today.
I bet the difference is minimal. The outlook doesn't look likely though that the G752 will have it, considering they mention the GX700 will have it
and they were both released at the same time. Although the MSI GT72 can handle it, which is odd because that laptop and the G75x laptops are
very similar. But reviews I have read about the MSI state it can sound like a frieght train. It could be Asus cautioned on the safe side and did not
offer it in the G752 for that reason or throttling. Now if they release a NEW version after the initial G752 with it, I would be pissed. (If I end up with
a G752 that is).

I really hope the G752 is released sooner rather than later. I would like to replace my G750. GTX980m is fine with me. I really want to see the 4k
screen and see how small everything actually is. I also want to see how it scales at 1080p. If I can game at 1080p and do work at 4k, that would be
optimal to me.

no idea concerning the 752 but the new clevo notebook will NOT have watercooling and will have the 980 notebook Version
the watercooling setup sounds more like marketing than anything at all...

Thanks for the reviews.

Im kind of stuck on who I am ordering it through, which kinda sucks. But my work basically pays for it, and they take it out of my check. Nice because I don't have to come up with all of the cash at once or put it on a credit card. Here's to hoping its officially released soon. 🙂
