Only solution is to send it for repair which will most likely not fix it. There is one more thing that can fix your problem, and it is by buying a more expensive but more qualitative laptop from other brand 🙂

Sorry I sound a bit like a hater, dont get me wrong I like my G55 the way it is now, but honestly if I could go back I would buy another laptop which would be lower in specks, but with better quality.

Or replace the screen itself with a better one. That's what I'm hoping to do next month.

If you change your refresh rate to 66Hz, the waves should disappear. There have been several threads about this on this forum.

66Hz? Where do I find that option? I only see 60Hz.

Here's what you need to do!

1. Open the nvidia control panel
2. Display tab
3. Change resolution
4. Open customize (@ bottom)
5. Open Create Custom Resolution (@ bottom)
6. Hit Accept
7. Change Refresh Rate to 66Hz

If that doesn't work go gradually up by 1 till you see no more lines!

PS: one other thing will help greatly, uninstall the Splend Utilily.
(I would do this first)
You will differently see a much better color quality picture if you do so!

Also set Contrast to 43 in the nvidia control panel under Adjust Video Color Setting
Then go to the last tab Advanced and change Dynamic Range to Full.
Leave the other two setting unchecked.

This should help greatly!

I have the best screen so far with my G55V

What screens do you people have? I have the 120 Hz 3D screen for my G75VX and I find it amazing! Incredible colours and contrast compared to my other 24 inch screens for PCs. Very satisfied with the screen. The WiFi on the other hand... but there was a new driver released thru Windows Update recently and I downloaded it today. Maybe it will solve those WiFi issues.

Can't speak for the others, but my G75VW display is a 60Hz non-3D Chi Mei panel (if memory serves). Theirs probably are, too. The colors are relatively dull, and the screen looks quite grainy. I actually prefer the 720p glossy display of my 5 year old Toshiba laptop. Gonna purchase a replacement for mine in another couple of weeks.
