I am buying and doing some updates to a G750JH. I am curious is I should go with the Killer N-1103 or the Intel Ultimate 6300?? Tell me the reason why I should go with the one you suggest. Thank You
Why change at all? Neither of those choices has 802.11ac support, and won't run much faster - if at all noticeable - than the included Killer Wireless-N 1202.
The Killer Wireless-N 1202 (2.4GHz and 5GHz) runs great up to 300mbits/sec, and that covers the fastest internet speeds we are going to see.
The Wireless-N 1103 doesn't have BT so you would need to figure out how to replace BT functionality.
http://www.killergaming.com/solutions/technology.php?nav1=161The Intel 6300 doesn't have BT either:
http://ark.intel.com/products/59474/The Intel 7260 has 802.11ac, and has BT:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-7260-bluetooth.htmlThe Intel 7260 only supports up to ac1700, and ac1900 is available now from Asus with the RT-AC68U.
Asus hasn't come out with a matching Mini-PCIE card, or a matching USB adapter - only a PCI-e full sized card that will connect at 802.11ac 1900.
It might make sense to wait until the specs have settled down for 802.11ac before committing to surgery on the G750JH...
Unless you are running LAN shares over wireless with huge image transfers, the 802.11ac throughput won't be helpful.
If you do switch to an 802.11ac card, let us know how that works out - installation photo's and benchmark results too!
