So I am selling my G75vw and I want to buy a G750. Which one should I get? My price limit is about $1,700. I was thinking this one. http://www.amazon.com/G750JS-DS71-17-3-inch-Gaming-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B00IEV85OU/ref=psdc1_t1_B00IA... but what do you all think? I mainly play league and I want zero ping. 🙂

the ping is dependent on your internet connection. Awesome laptop + sucky internet = lag. All G750 will play leagues on maximum. You can go to your local bestbuy store and walk away with one for ~1200 right now. The price differences are based mostly on the GPU. Everything else is pretty much the same for all versions.

The thing is, I don't lag at my house but lag at my friend's house. But not as much since he upgraded his internet (same exact plan and speed I have and same comcast gateway too) but I still lag occasionally and he doesn't.

I saw the one at bestbuy today, actually. The one I wanted is the 256gb ssd+1tb 7200rpm hdd with a GTX 870 3bg with 4th gen i7. Will that be faster than the one on clearance?

One I want-http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-256gb-solid-state-drive-black/5419233.p;jsessionid=18F456065752160EABF8CBE5391E0CDA.bbolsp-app03-105?id=1219128145308&skuId=5419233&st=g750&cp=1&lp=7

The newer one like 50 dollars more than the clearance-http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/5827044.p?id=1219163973191&skuId=5827044&st=g750&cp=1&lp=4

If you lag at your house, the problem if your friends internet. I bet he hasn't configured the router optimally. Tell your buddy to optimize the WiFi channel on his router. It also depends on how old the router is. If the router is using compatibility to older cards, it'll cause lag.
I got JW version last year with the GTX765m. To be truthful, It runs cooler than the 770 (or 870 equivalent) version, so less power usage too. I bought my own 256GB SSD for 100 dollars on tigerdirect (MX100) and I kept the HDD it came with it on 2nd bay for no real reason (I should remove it. I don't even use it). The CPU is the same for all: 4th Gen i7. This laptop was, I think, $700 cheaper (maybe more) than the similar version you are looking at. If I were you, I would first decide what kind of gaming I would be doing and make the decision only on that.
If your definition of faster is CPU, then both are the same. If your definition of faster is higher graphics level, then are you willing to pay the price difference for playing between medium vs medium-high on Titanfall? (Leagues will run on max on either computer). And, are you willing to pay the difference in price for the SSD upgrade (today for $250 you can get a 512GB SSD).

I'm good at my house just not his all the time. He is on I think channel 6? I am on 11, but 11 didn't work at his house at all. He just got the comcast technicolor gateway like last week.

so you are saying to get the $1,299 one? The upgraded 2.5GHz processor?

the new 5400 RPM HDDs and the 7200RPM HDDs are coming with a bigger head, so the reading area is pretty big. You don't really see much difference anymore. SSDs are cheap as I mentioned... consider that upgrade regardless.

but it doesn't have the 7200 rpm hard drive.

Use WiFi Analyzer on android to decide what the best channel is. All G750s from last year, this year and possible next year have the same CPU. I'm saying define fast...
