What are the little pads on the GPU?

Hello I have an Asus G60JX I removed my cpu and gpu to clean but my kids removed the little pads that were on the gpu and the heat sink. I think there thermal pads but I just want to be sure what they are before I order them. If you guys know a good cheap place to order from on eBay A link would be appreciated. Thanks all

I don't know about ebay but FrozenCPU or Performancpc, or most sites that carry water cooling accessories have them. They come in various thicknesses so you need to know how thick the original ones are.

Yeah, thermal pads are normally not something you can just order up. Nice to know FrozenCPU has then available. I agree, thickness is very important though. Wrong thickness and the heatsink may not make contact and leave a gap, which could fry whatever chip needs heat dissipation. Good luck.

Someone here in the forums may be able to speak up and advise the thickness of the pads on the G60. I never measured mine when I had the G60.

Yup! Thpose are thermal pads, as others have said. Couldn't you possibly reuse them? Or did your kids damage them. :confused: You will need them, or possibly thermal grease. Based upon the appearance of those pictures, it looks as if there is no thermal grease, which I know can also be used.

Been there, done that?? 😄 That would be unfortunate, but little kids are cute. 🙂 They do get into everything, so you have to be careful.

Maybe you should get them on the forums...get them hooked on ROG soon! 😉
