Well, I'm pretty upset...

So I just got a brand new G55VW. Great computer, runs my favorite games like a dream.
Only problem was the rubber paint on the monitor was pealing on one corner.
So I though, "Hey I just got it so it's covered in the warranty. They'll fix it up"
Wrong.
Nope, sent it in the mail, got it back completely NOT FIXED.
Oh, and not only that but they managed to make the rubber pealing worse and throw in some scratches too.
Great, just great.
Oh, I forgot to mention that there was BUBBLE GUM stuck on the charger.
Yea that's right. Chewing gum.
Very professional, ASUS.
So now I'm sitting here, with my messed up laptop that I spent well over $1000 on and it's got scratches and scuff marks.
I'm not happy ASUS.
I've sent them my complaints. You better do something about this, because you've got a really angry gamer here and you won't hear the end of it.

Thats normal wear and tear and not covered. You need to baby this finish. Its nice but if you dont treat it good it turns to crap.

Wrong.

That is not wear and tear. My G53SX is a year old (as of a few days ago), and the finish (minus a little oil that I should clean off) is looking perfect. ASUS doing that is not acceptable. PM @cl-scott and talk to him...and make sure to post pics. ASUS will take care of you ... especially the guys @ASUS here on the forums.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 178 people whose systems will not break! Yippee! 🙂
LINUX Users, we have a group!

Noone really cares about your post in Asus so even if you cry and say they suck. Truth is, they have the best laptops for the best prices, and the lousiest customer support by all means. Live with it or sell your laptop.

have a nice day 😉

This isn't something I can deal with after spending so much money unfortunately

I challenge you on that. For the same price you can get other brands most of them are better "Cough Sager cough MSI" but the fact is the G75 has one of the best laptop cooling systems out . G73's were the best bang for the buck. G74's and 75's are now average priced.

Fan boys will say they are the best for the money and Alienware fanboys will say Alienware are the best for the money "LMFAO" Same with Macbook pro fanboys. On notebook review i did a review on the G75 and i have no problems telling people to buy it. But i do note that there are a few other systems that offer more power for the same price. Or have better keyborads and what not. The cooling system on the G75 is a huge strong point since it is a gaming computer. But i would not call these the best for the money.

PS you can refinish the rubber. They sell flat black rubber spray paint and someone who know how to paint can make it look like new pretty fast. I hit up a old school MX17's lid with automotive undercoat because i was doing some graphics on it and i must say. Easy to do never had issues with it coming off and looked great.

Are you past the retailer's return period? Because if you bought it new and it arrived damaged then you should have returned it to them.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

I bought it from Newegg, but I didn't really want to exchange it for a new one since I had already downloaded quite a few games on it. I figured Asus could just repair it and I'd get it back all good and everything would be great.
Also the colors seem messed up on my screen, which wasn't present when I first got it. I don't know what they did with it, but they didn't fix it.

Well, I would RMA it with Newegg if I was you dude.
Newegg has really good customer service, they should exchange for you.

I got my G75VW-TS71 about a month ago, and less than two weeks after I got it, the coat began to flake and peel in several places: at all 4 corners of the lid, along the seam where the lid piece meets with the panel framing the monitor, and where the hinge piece meets with the rear vents. It's unsightly, but I've been too reliant on my laptop for work to bother sending it for cosmetic repair. I've tried to be as gentle as possible to my laptop, but I don't seem to have any control over this problem (particularly where it occurs at the seams).

Can I trust ASUS to fix it for good, are there ways I can have the case repainted/refinished without voiding the warranty, or do I just get to stare at it?
