Welcome me to the Club! The "my G46VW can't see my SSD club that is"

Well... my 840 EVO was working fine for the past 2 weeks and then just now all of a sudden randomly my G46VW might display "disk read error" or "reboot and select proper boot device"

SSD works great in every other laptop I own. Tried some advice that I've seen floating around here but no avail. If I come to work in the morning I just keep mashing CTRL-ALT-Delete and wait for that HD activity light to flash a little differently and let go of the buttons.

Not asking for help just a rant. This laptop has a lot of issues.. lol might switch to my W110ER again.

Hello

If other drives work without issue with the G46VW contact the manufacturer of the SSD as that is where the problem is. This is not an uncommon issue with the 840 series drives.

You're right! I never thought to look at the SSD as it's fairly used and worked since it was released in 3 other laptops no problem. hmm interesting. Thanks for the insight.

EDIT: My mSATA (adata sx300) always works great no matter what (it's my secondary drive currently)

Update: I ended up switching sata speeds from Gen 3 to Gen 2 and now I have zero issues. very strange.
