Hello, I'm here to report this weird, unexplainable graphical glitch that has been happening in ALL of my games... it is very annoying. The bug look like this:

This is the only screenshot I have of it... but trust me it appears in ALL of my games. I updated my drivers, raised my laptop a little bit to improve air circulation, and I have cleaned the dust out of the fans... nothing has worked  . So, if you could help me fix this problem... please do so. 😮

Specs:
ATI Mradeon HD 5870

1) What driver set are you using?
2) What BIOS is installed?
3) What video BIOS is installed?

You can get the vBIOS info from GPU-Z or HWINFO64

I am using modified vid drivers that I got from this thread...
http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?1283-G73-Weird-Graphics-Issue.

They actually helped a lot, its mostly gone but now I want to get rid of the rest of them.

Heres the info for my graphics card:

Also, were do I find the info for my bios?

The version number for the bios is 1.0

You are running the stock vBIOS, first of all. You should update it to the latest. See the "Fix Your GSOD Blues" sticky thread for downloads and instructions.

You'll need to update your laptop BIOS to 213, and the then do the vBIOS update. First make your bootable FAT32 USB stick as per the GSOD instructions, then put the BIOS and vBIOS on it, and ATIFLASH + the .bat file.

Then flash your BIOS using EASYFlash from the BIOS. Reboot, and then boot to the USB stick and run the .bat file at the C: prompt.

The old vBIOS has issues with the current AMD drivers.

Thnx for the help! I hope this finally fixes my graphics issues!

Unfortunately, flashing my bios and flashing my v bios did not fix it... any more suggestions? Thnx for being patient with me.

OH WAIT! I see what I was doing wrong! I wasn't uninstalling my old video drivers before installing new ones! So, I guess I will have to uninstall all of them, then install the newest version of CCC...

Well, the vBIOS update will help you in the future, so it's a good thing that it's done.

If doing the full uninstall / reinstall doesn't work out, do a full uninstall again, then follow up with using the ATI Crap Cleaner on my driver page. Then reboot and do your install. It has helped me in the past with pesky legacy issues.

I used driver cleaner, rebooted, then tried to use the ATI crap cleaner... I got errors saying it couldn't find the files that it wanted to delete. So after I reinstalled my drivers and re-booted, I am still experiencing the same problems. I did the Furmark test, and my gpu went up to 105 C with these settings:

Dynamic Background on
Dynamic camera off
Burn in on
Xtreme burn in on
Post FX on
Res: 1280x720
AA off

Would you consider this overheating? I noticed a patern in were I get graphical glitches... it seems to only happen in games that use Directx... could these problems be linked with corrupted directx?
