Weird, faint screen lines over everything on G75WV-BBK5

I just got this new G75WV-BBK5 less than a month ago, and I'm having an issue with the screen

I noticed these small lines on the default desktop wallpaper, but I assumed they were normal (from compression of the image or something). Recently, however, I notices lines on my screen while playing a game, and then started looking for them. They're mainly visible on dark colors. There are horizontal lines over the entire screen, about 2 pixels in height and 2 pixels apart. It creates this effect where the color behind them is slightly darker or lighter than the rest of it. Here's an image to show what I'm talking about: http://i.imgur.com/nml86.png

I plugged up the notebook to my 42'' 1080p 120hz tv, and it didn't have this problem. I tried changing my refresh rate to 40hz (the only other option apart from 60) and the issue was still there. The lines just flickered more.

Is this normal? Is this model just like this? Could someone with this model (or a similar model) take a look at a picture like this: http://i.imgur.com/7kTcL.png ? That color causes the issue pretty obviously. Look at the screen from a downward angle (from higher than the screen) and let me know if you see the same thing I'm seeing. If this isn't normal, the only thing I can think of is that my gpu is shot or my monitor is screwed up. If it is normal, then why is it like this? o_O

In a last effort, I'm downloading the new nvidia verde driver to see if maybe it has to do with a refresh rate issue, but I kinda doubt it. To be honest, even if there is no fix, I'd find comfort in knowing that it's normal for this model. If nothing else, I might go to best buy to look at the floor model and see if it has the same issue.

Thanks in advance

EDIT:

1.) The lines are solid, not really flickering
2.) They are about 2 pixels thick, 2 pixels apart across the entire screen, horizontal
3.) They make the color either slightly lighter or slightly darker, causing the effect seen here: http://i.imgur.com/nml86.png
4.) It can be seen with the brightness of the screen turned all the way up, and viewed from a slightly higher-than-straight-on angle.
5.) The lines can only be seen on dark colors (not black), like this (http://i.imgur.com/7kTcL.png) or this (http://postimage.org/image/a5thle5mn/full/)
6.) The lines are entirely gone in 16-bit color modes, and pretty visible with 32-bit color.
7.) I've updated to the latest Nvidia beta verde driver, and it hasn't fixed the problem.
8.) I've changed the screen refresh rate to everything between 60 and 80 hz, and it hasn't fixed the problem. At lower frequencies like 30 or 40 hz, the lines appear to flicker (although this might just be because of the lower rate messing with my eyes)

I honestly think this could be a widespread issue with this laptop that not many people noticed. I've used this thing for 3 weeks and just noticed it yesterday. It can only be seen (as far as I can tell) from a semi-high angle, on dark colors, with full screen brightness, or at least this is the best way to spot the problem.

Quick question guys, do you think that replacing the screen with one of these in ebay : http://www.ebay.ca/sch/Computer-Components-Parts-/175673/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=g75vw would fix the problem or is the source somewhere in the motherboard ?
The strange thing is that my laptop did not have this problem when i bought it, then once back from my first RMA about a Bios problem they were apparent, so i guess they did not change the screen to fix the Bios lol.
Your opinions are welcome and screw Asus warranty.

Guys, could fix the problem with this driver from asus website :
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/DriversForWin8/VGA/VGA_nVidia_Win7_8_64_VER918131141.zip

Try it out and report.
Good luck.

Just tried it slayer. Those drivers are kinda old (311.44). And unfortunately, they didn't fix the problem at all. Try reducing the brightness from the Nvidia control panel to 45% instead of 50%. That seems to be the best compromise for now.

Yeah i just tried to install back the newest drivers and the problem seems to be gone, the most recent thing i did was to install back Instant On....

Hey man, unfortunately it's been two years for me with the G75 and there's still no fix for it. And I'm assuming there never will be. The fact this issue is still present on the latest models shows that they don't care enough to fix it at all. My advice is, if the lines are bothering you a lot (and they should), then return the laptop to the store you bought it from and get your money back. The chances of this issue ever being fixed are slim to none.

Hey guys, just a heads up, but I think I might have found a way to fix the problem. I have the original matte display, and tried to replace it with a glossy, I ended up getting a Chi Mei and had the lines issue. Luckily, I was able to get the seller to switch it out for a proper LG Phillips LP173WF1(TL)(C1) screen. The screen will be here either tomorrow or Monday. I will let you guys know if the lines disappear with the screen.

Apparently the Chi Meis have a 650:1 contrast ration, and the LG has 500:1, but if it gets rid of my lines issue in my G75VX (670MX GPU), I will report back.

Everyone I am happy to announce I have FIXED THIS ISSUE. First of all, understand I have had both a Chi Mei and LG panel, as well as my stock matte display.

The matte display had no issues, except for dead pixels once I dropped it. Then decided to upgrade to glossy.

I experienced both the flickering issue and lines issue with my previous glossy Chi-mei. I was able to fix the flickering by setting my refresh rate to 96 hz, but always had the lines issue. Playing with the nvidia color settings would could hide the lines a bit, but would destroy contrast and gamut.

I ordered a LG Phillips LP173WF1(TL)(C1) screen. This is the EXACT model screen I was able to pick up online, for less than $100 with shipping. I had hoped making the jump from Chi Mei would fix the issue.

At first, I could still see the the lines. They were MUCH less pronounced then the chi mei panel. Even doing a clean driver install of the latest geforce drivers (version 347.09).

However, once I overclocked my refresh rate from 60hz to 96hz on this LG panel, the lines have COMPLETELY disappeared! The lines still show up at 72hz, so I am staying at 96hz.

Again, using one of these LG Phillips panels, doing a CLEAN install of the 347.09 Nvidia drivers, and overclocking to first 72hz, then 96hz, you can fix. Some screens might work at 72hz, which will increase the life of the display, but you should get 5+ years out of the panels even at 96hz. Plus, you get some extra FPS in those games.

I hope this can help others -- of course, this thread and others are probably dead, but still nice to have found something that works, for me.

And just so you know, I have my GPU volt modded and overclocked. So overclocks don't seem to effect this fix (Currently at 1.1 vcore and 1 GHz core, 1.2 GHz memory on my 670mx!)

Note: I choose multiples of 24 when overclocking. This allows for proper video playback of 24 fps content on this displays without losing a frame every now and then in madvr for video playback.

This panels can overclock this far, I had my Chi Mei at 96hz for over 2 years with no issues. Again, the lines are COMPLETELY GONE.

Pick up one of these screens. I got no dead pixels on mine, and
