Upgrading to Windows 8.1 and PC wont recognize all RAM, hard drives, or function keys

As someone whose never worked on computers before I decided to open up my laptop and gain experience. I upgraded my laptop to 32gb of RAM (two slots in the back and two under the keyboard), 500GB SSD (to boot from), 2TB Hard drive, and upgraded to Windows 8.1 (because of the FPS and the free upgrade from Microsoft for Windows 10 later next year [hopefully]). So complete new insides for my lovely ASUS.

But now the problem is (like it stated in the title) it will not recognize all 32gb of ram, nor acknowledge the 2TB hard drive, and for whatever reason the function keys to use my backlight keyboard, turn on/off my wifi, turn on/off the track pad won't work.

As someone whose completely ignorant about these things I'm pretty sure I need to download drivers or something but I don't know what exact drivers to download or how to get them.

I did backup my old data on a 1tb external hard drive, still have the original 750gb hard drive it came with (which has Windows 7 Premium).

Would it be easier to maybe pull the drivers from my backup or download it somewhere else?
Would it be a problem since my backup is Windows 7 Premium and not Windows 8?

Thanks!

Asus support Download You'll need the ATK drivers update all Chipset IRST IME. Your ram is probably not compatible Which ones did you put in??

See Rewben thread on upgrading

For Ram you'll need 4 8GB sticks all the same and compatible with the G75 on the download site you'll see a list of compatible tested RAM. If you did use all 4 matching sticks try reseating them. Install only the under the keyboard Ram Stick first once you have them working then add the easy ones. If the first two aren't working you have an incompatibility or bad Ram.

If you tried to change out all that hardware in one shot it will be difficult do trouble shoot. I would suggest you put your old hard drives back in and then with an working OS then add Ram once that's working then add SSD with either a Clean Install of Windows 8.1.1 or Clone from your original hard drive and upgrade to Windows 8.1.

Get your updated drivers from the Window 8.1 section of the Asus Download, then go to the Windows 8 for the rest of the drivers. I think in the Win 8.1 section there is only Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers window 8 and windows 7 section will have all the rest you need.
