xeleron, so it was working ok, and then it started not working? You tried all the USB ports?

Briefly browsing through google for that error:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Unknown+USB+Device+%28Device+Descriptor+Request+Failed%29+&ie=utf-8&...

One person that had that error needed a motherboard replacement - not what you want to hear... and one that said they ran "ccleaner" and rebooted and the driver install worked and it was working again. Maybe you can try that. 🙂

Motherboard replaced:

ccleaner fixed it...

ccleaner download

I also use ccenhancer - wait for 45 seconds for Applications tab to fill, it is worth it for the extra application cleaning added. First time you will need to select the items to clean - I select all except for remove saved passwords.

From what he said he did the registry Scan / Fix and the Analyze/Run Cleaner. Do both - reboot, and see if it starts working again.

Please come back and let us know how it works out 🙂

I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not, but I am having a weird experience with my left USB ports (I know that there is known problems with them).

My top left usb port works fine to transfer data from my Western Digital 1tb external harddrive.
But the bottom left usb port keeps disconnecting the external harddrive and is saying there is a problem.

I have updated to BIOS 206 and did a fresh install of windows 8.1 when I got the computer a few days ago. I thought I didn't have a problem until I tried to use the other left USB port today. Maybe its just the hard drive and other devices will work, but at this point even if its dead I prob wont do anything about it because the rest of the computer is great.

I'm a little bit afraid on what to tick after using ccenhancer. What should I tick on application tab? I don't want to mess up my laptop. Yes, Its a laptop.

An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.

Error code: 0x80070037: The specified network resource or device is no longer available."

I was able to get to 20% of the copy of a 28.8gb file before it popped the error. The previous times it didn't get near that far. I am going to google the code and see what it says.
