Trackpad issues in games with g56jr

I am finding that in certain games (this has happened in scribblenauts and divinity original sin but not in CK2, bioshock infinite or Civ 5) the game does not always register my left clicks when I tap to click. In Divinity it appear to occasionally register as a 'half-click' as the button looks to depress but is not actually clicked. I have tried disabling the touchpad delay when typing and this has not fixed the problem. Anyone got any ideas?? Thanks for any help in advance!

djh90, often such problems are shared among other computers, googling scribblenauts mouse problems comes up with lots of hits:
https://www.google.com/search?q=scribblenauts++mouse+problems&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Probably the most promising is:

"The Mouse appears in Scribblenauts. They eat most food (notably cheese), and are prey for most carnivorous animals bigger than them." 🙂

If that doesn't help there are lots of others about computer mouse's:

Click mouse, pointer moves

"To anyone with this problem: I think I fixed it for myself.

The setting in windows control panel for bringing a window you hover over to the front had to be disabled.

On Windows 7 it's under:
Control Panel \ Ease Of Access Center \ Make the mouse easier to use.
Scroll down and uncheck 'Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse'.

This fixed my problem instantly. Not sure if it'll work for everybody, but it's worth a shot. "

"You may first try to check the mouse settings by going to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options -> Uncheck the "Enhance Pointer Precision" and check if it resolves the issue."

Even though you have a trackpad problem it is likely debugged as a mouse issue. There are lots of postings about the problem similar to your description, following through on reading them, and going to the program support site - back to the source of the software is a good place to try for a fix.

In the end this may be a bug that hasn't, and won't be fixed, but It is worth pursuing the options above.

Let us know how it works out 🙂

Sadly neither of these worked... I'm thinking it must be a problem with the games as I do not have a problem outside of these games and not even with all games. Very annoying!

djh90, that is what I think too, but it was worth trying a few of the possible fixes 🙂

You might try setting up a Windows 8.1, Windows 7, or Windows XP VM, running under Virtualbox or VMware player, and see if that Virtual hardware / OS combination works for that game. I don't think it is so graphically taxing that it wouldn't run.

In the VM container settings, et the video card memory to the maximum available, run initially without 2d/3d acceleration and see if that works ok.

I am assuming you really want to play that game, so the VM route is worth investigating 🙂
