Touchpad Settings

The touchpad on my G75VW-BHI7N07 from Best Buy running windows 8 seems to be reversed. It acts more like I'm dragging my finger on a touch screen rather than the normal scroll of the touch pad. By this I mean that dragging 2 fingers down the pad makes it scroll up, and 2 fingers up makes it scroll down (same is true for left and right). Any ideas?

Make sure you have the latest driver, check at the ASUS driver download page for the G75VW. You can adjust sensitivity in the newer driver and it works much better with windows 8. Personally I disabled all the gesture functions but if you want to use you'll need the newest synaptics driver!
G75VW-BBK5 Windows 8 Pro 1TB HDD, 180GB Corsair Force GT Sata3 SSD, 16GB DDR3, GeForce GTX 660M, Intel i-7 3610-QM 2.3Ghz Turboboost to 3.3Ghz

I did have the latest drivers installed. I ended up fixing it by uninstalling the drivers, and uninstalling all the actual pointer hardware, then letting windows rediscover everything, then reinstalling the software

LOL. funny at some of the replies...
your touch pad is functioning totally fine.
anyways. win 8 touchpad mimics how you would operate a touchscreen. if u have use a touch screen phone or tablet then you have no problem. just a matter of getting use to.
in fact its been present since win 7.
your windows will by default have installed the drivers for you.
but you can always get the drivers from the official asus download page.
if you really hate it you can always disable certain multitouch gestures.
control panel - mouse - device settings - settings
personally i like it. like pinch zoom which i use often on webpages or .....when i view naughty pics. 😄

So why, then, after I uninstalled and re-installed does it work the way it used to work? (i.e. 2 fingers dragged down, the page scrolls down, two fingers up, it scrolls up.)

you might have installed the V16.2.11.7 or V16.1.8.0
these are currently available at the asus g75 win 8 download page.
personally i use the V16.2.21 from the synaptics website.
