Touch Pad

I just want to know how to disable the touch pad. At times just touching it with your wrist while using a mouse causes strange things to happen.

Thanks

1. You need to give us your model number.
2. There are many threads about touchpads. You should read and if you don't find what you need THEN add to one of them with your question.

BTW - welcome to the ROG forum!
Read the User's Manual for more info. 😄

Usual it is Fn + F9 to turn on and off the touch pad 🙂

But as JRd1st's saying, please give us more information before, so it would be easier for us to help you 🙂

You can also adjust the palmrest sensitivity in the Settings for the touchpad's driver.

I knew about FN and F9 however it didn't work until I held both buttons down for a good 4-5 seconds....strange for a laptop marketed as being so fast.

Thanks guys.

Did you see "Touchpad Disabled" on your screen when you chose Fn-F9? If not, it may be a driver problem.
If other Fn keys are not functioning, you may need to install the ATK Package. Current version is 1.00.0014.

Do you have a Sentelic or Synaptic touchpad? If you can't telll, go to Device Manager, expand Mice and Other Pointing Devices, right-click on the mouse device and choose Properties from the popup menu. Select the Details tab and choose Hardware Ids in Property. If STLC is displayed in the Value, you have a Sentelic touchpad.

I recommend you uninstall your current touchpad driver and reboot. The touchpad should then display the Microsoft touchpad driver in Devices. Download and install the latest Sentelic or Synaptic driver, depending on which touchpad is on your laptop.

Fn-F9 will then hopefully function as designed. The Sentelic 9.1.7.7 verson also has a configuration option to disable when a USB mouse is detected. I suspect the Synaptic driver has a similar configuration.
