Time to thoroughly clean the fans and repaste?

G75VW, No OC

This is idle, High Performance profile, all cores unparked.

If I do it, could someone recommend the ABSOLUTE BEST Thermal Compound because if I'm going this deep, I'll be installing an i7-3840qm

Thanks

asus recommend you clean cooling system, but not recommend you dismantle CPU and change it.
it will void your warranty.

No offense, but my warranty is already voided, and I don't care what Asus recommends... Go to their site and it says "Asus Recommends Windows 8"

I'm looking for a user's opinion, not an Asus spokesperson.

I had almost the same temps as you, so I re-pasted my CPU/GPU and got about 6-12c drop on everything literally

Reason I re-pasted is so I can use a good and efficient thermal paste on my laptop so I don't have to deal with the overheating stupidity in long-term and of course having my gpu or cpu short life spam due to the heat increasing every year.

Honestly I bought g73,g74 and now g75. each paste they used are always ..well good but just so poorly fabricated, think of it like Food, you can find the same food for much cheaper, with the same amount of nutrition's, but those nutrition's are poorly and not rich in healthy aspect.

I mean that's my theory, the way I see it 😛

it's up to you, if you wish to prepare your laptop for long-term heat output with quality thermal paste, then I recommend it to do so

I used Artic silver 5 high den on both GPU/CPU. works great. I made a post Thread you can check it out

It's strange, cus my idle temps are now higher, while my load temps are getting lower. And I use IC Diamond, but AS is also good.

hey your temperatures are fine to me 😄

It's about 78F in the room right now... Guess I just need to look into cleaning the fans... I was really trying to talk myself into the 3840 😞
