Things before doing a Win8.1 upgrade

Hello guys...

I need help on upgrading my G750JX (win8) to 8.1
I dont wanna do it via a store upgrade.. i want to do it via .iso (setup)
but the thing is... which .iso should i download? (link please 🙂 ) (any iso wont work i think)
also if i install win8.1 from that iso, my Recovery and Restore partitions wont be deleted right? (until and unless i do it on purpose)
also after installing how will i get my win8 key back?
and the drivers... they'll have to be done from official asus website?
anything else am i missing??? (data already backed up 😄 )

I have formatted my other laptops many times (seriously.. i lost count), but i am scared to do it on my g750 😞

You can just download the update from the market and get 8.1. If you want to do a reinstall instead, not sure you can with our OEM Win8 keys on these laptops (I could be wrong).

Your best bet might just be to reinstall Windows 8, and then after do the upgrade to 8.1
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

Since the OA 3.0, you won't be able to install a non-OEM copy of 8.1 without disabling UEFI. It's best if you go the upgrade route and keep UEFI enabled, just be sure to back up the factory recovery. 🙂
