Strange WIFI problem with G750JX

My G750JX laptop has just today developed a very odd and frustrating problem. This is a new development and until today this has not been an issue in any manner or form.

Quick run-down on the story up until yesterday:
Bought the G750JX with Win 8 in July.
Got fed up with Win 8, bought a Samsung SSD and installed Win 7 64-bit at the end of October (kept the Win 8 HDD as it were just booted off the SSD instead).
Ever since the install there has been this odd graphics glitch while booting Win 7 - essentially the loading screen is compressed into weird stripes of seemingly random pixels at the top of the screen. However this passes pretty quickly and from the login screen everything worked as intended.
Been pretty much happy since then.

THEN, yesterday my Win 7 partition would not boot. It got stuck in the weird pixel screen stage and would not progress. I tried both repair and safe boot to no avail. Got stuck after having loaded CLASSPNP.sys. I booted on the Win 8 partition and did some trouble shooting - ran CHKDSK F: /R which found no issues and follwed the instruction by "Jet" on this page: http://superuser.com/questions/559923/windows-7-is-stuck-at-starting-windows-when-i-attempt-to-boot-...
After that I rebooted and Win 7 started just fine - and everything worked.

So, this morning - same issue, Win 7 hangs during startup. I follow yesterdays procedure and Win 7 starts just fine... only now my WIFI adapter is not seeing any networks - the driver is working and no amount of toggling Fn+F2 or diagnosing helped with this. I know it is neither the hardware nor the router - because the WIFI works fine inside Win 8 and my phone still connects just fine to the router. Normal ethernet works fine.
Since then I have dug through all sorts of links and tried out various other drivers for the WIFI adapter. None of it works and I am at my wits end, I hope someone here can help.

So to summarise - WIFI worked yesterday now it does not. The drivers used to work and it is not the hardware or the router. I suspect something has gotten screwed up inside Win 7 and would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.

Is there really no one who has any suggestions or input in relation to this?

Did you ever upgrade to Windows 8.1 before giving up on Windows 8? I, like you, totally hated Windows 8 but once I upgraded to 8.1, it really grew on me. I've heard of people having problems when downgrading from 8 to 7 on other PC forums, so that may be your problem. I had a similar problem with my old Lenovo laptop and upgrading to Windows 8.1 fixed the wireless issue I was having in Windows 8, then Windows 7. I had to use an external wifi adapter on my laptop, which worked fine. So maybe try to buy a external USB wifi adapter, install it, and see if it works. If so, then more than likely it is a driver issue that I described above. Those are about the only options I can offer.

Thank you for your reply. I have not tried 8.1 - I wanted an SSD and I was fed up with Win 8 so decided to go for 7 when I had to do the OS install anyway. The odd thing here - as far as I am concerned - is that the WiFi used to work just fine in Win 7. Not a single hiccup, not a single glitch and then BOOM nothing. The driver sees the device and says everything is nice and dandy - the troubleshooter says restart router (it's not the router, but we tried it anyway).
There must be some other mechanism that prevents the WiFi from actually communicating - almost as if the device was in Flight mode. However, the toggling the flight mode on and off seems to do nothing.

Did you do what Jet suggested at the bottom of his post?

(ClassPnP has NO MATTER here. It was LOADED, and the problem is in the NEXT driver which is being loaded. To find what caused the problem, use any tool (I think Sysinternals had a tool for it) to get driver load order list. And after that, find the driver which was loaded AFTER ClasssPnP.sys. The problem is there...)

I'm betting the drivers you have installed for your wireless are what hung you in the first place.

I would recommend going back to Windows 8. G750's from my experience seem to have issues with running windows 7. Either that or talk to the people here in the forum with it working and see exactly what drivers they have installed. While some Windows 7 drivers will work in Win8, a lot wont work the same way around.
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

If the driver is indeed the issue, why then has it worked without fail for just over 5 months? This is the bit that does not make sense here.

Something changed with the Win 7 install - the driver was not changed. This somehow must be fixable - if needs be I can roll back to an earlier image of the OS however I would rather not have to download 50+ Gb of stuff to get my system back to where it is now if the issue can be fixed without doing so. I am sure it can be fixed and so I am hoping someone here can offer constructive suggestions as how to achieve this.

To utilise my SSD with Win 8 would still require a new OS install and so there is nothing gained by this and I might as well roll back to the initial Win 7 image. I have a Win 8 "backup" install on the original HDD which is handy in some situations, that is about as much Win 8 as I can stomach.
