When I press the power button, nothing happens.

I just got it, never used it... Bought it in the US thru Amazon, now im back in my country the Philippines.

It's strange because I can see that your power button is getting red when you press it so the laptop is being powered. Did you try a power management reset by pressing the power button for 5-10 secs ? Since you said that your laptop did power on at the beginning and now it has this issue, maybe it's something with the power management. Just an idea. I don't know if it will solve your problem but it's worth trying it since it only takes 10 secs.

EDIT: Srry. I've just seen that you already sent it to ASUS Service. Just keep us updated on what they tell you :). Good luck mate !

I've been having the same problem too, currently in the process of haveing a 3 way conversation with amazon and ASUS to explain the problem to them... judging from what ive read so far on this forum there doesnt seem to be much light on the matter.

Pretty shocking considering your paying in excess of £1600 for something that struggles to function the basics i.e turn on PROPERLY.

other than the turning on issue it is a brilliant laptop... sadly i wouldnt recommend it to anyone unless there is a fix.

try pressing and holding the power button for 60 sec with it unplug could be a static build up
