Sleep mode

My g75 takes about 5 minutes to recognise that the screen has been closed before it enters sleep mode. It also decides to wake itself up randomly for up to half an hour at a time when the screen is closed. Is there any way that I can prevent this happening? I do not want it to turn on while it is in a bag and overheat and I would prefer not having to have to shut it down each time that I put it into my bag.
(I know I can press fn+f1 to put it directly into sleep mode but this does not stop it from waking up randomly.)

Thanks 🙂

And no, I'm not willing to send it for RMA unless something major goes wrong with the laptop.

edit:
Yes, I have checked that it is set to go to sleep when the screen is closed, both on battery and on ac power.

Please do the following and post the results here:
Open the cmd.exe prompt in administrator mode and execute the following command: powercfg -energy

A report file is created; copy this file to the desktop to be able to open it.

Besides I suggest to do a clean install to kill all this ASUS bloatware that I suspect to cause your problems: Grab a win8 mdsn iso and you're ready to go. Messing around with power settings is a bad idea and so is power4gear. Let Windows do the energymanagement for you.

Another possibility would be a running process, that prevents the shutdown, so please check your autostart entries and assess yyour running processes.
