Hello,
I've got the G75VX and the 670MX.
I've heard that shadow play is coming out for the 680m, 675mx, 670mx and the 660m.

Will this mean that asus will bring out their own drivers for this?

As i don't use nvidia specific drivers, but would like to have shadow play.

ASUS is updating their drivers too rarely. Why would you use their drivers anyway? Because the GPU drivers are released by ASUS doesn't mean they are better optimised for the ROG laptops. After all the GPU in the laptop is made by nvidia, so the best support for it will be by them. I really don't think that there will ever be Shadowplay with the ROG GPU drivers.
