Hi,
I really need help!
I have ASUS ROG GL551JM laptop, it was running OS Linux (Debian) on its Samsung SSD, so it was bootable either from the SSD or from DVD - until today.
So I set 4 passwords on my Asus ROG GL551JM laptop - admin, user, HDD master, HDD user passwords and wrote all of them down.
The laptop is running Linux, not Windows.
The first system boot attemp after setting all the passwords was displaying multiple errors (did not have a chance to note what were actual error, but I think it was Linux unable to read valid data from HD). Seeing all the errors I just turned the laptop off.
All the further attemps to boot system went nowhere - it asked for password, then - for HDD password and whatever passwords I entered (admin or user password for boot, master or user password for HDD), I ended up in BIOS setup program and BIOS does not have any bootable options to boot from, I tried to boot from the SDD and from bootable DVD.
My questions are:
1. Is there any was to undo this HDD password and boot from my system?
2. I think that the system on the HD is damaged (possibly - encrypted) now and not usable anymore, but is there ANY way to reset the whole laptop to factory settings so I could reinstall a fresh system on it?
So far it looks like that by settings those passwords I ruined not just my OS, but also the laptop itself, as it is not usable anymore.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
