Does anyone know how to run from AC adapter without battery?
I've managed to open the notebook, disconnect the battery with the mainboard. Then I plug the adapter in and press power button, but nothing happens. *The reason I want to do this is because the battery is very unstable in my G751. Sometimes it will charge, and sometimes it won't. Left it cool overnight doesn't help. Sometimes I get it work by unplug/replug AC adapter many times.
Some more infos:
- I dual boot for both gaming and work (Windows and Linux respectively). If I only boot into Linux, it never has any problem. I think that is because it doesn't require a lot of processing and the machine stays cooler.
- Sometimes I boot into Window to play games. Most of the time there won't be any problem. But sometimes, after some gaming (I guess it becomes hotter), the "green light" will change to "orange" (or red) as if I have disconnected the adapter. No matter what I do, I can't charge it anymore. So the only way is to continue gaming with a bad performance (lower fps) until the battery goes so low that the computer shutdowns.
- Next, to be able to use the computer, I do the "plug/unplug" thing and pray that it works. It works here means the light will be orange (saying that the battery is being charged). This is the most interesting part though: if I don't wait for the light to becomes green (means 100% battery) and turn on the laptop, the light will disappear and the battery won't charge anymore.*If I wait long enough, I can use it normally like before.
Sorry if my English is hard to understand! Thank you!
