Hi my current laptop, ROG STRIX G16 which i bought last year august has been having frequent bsod instances, I was just playing spotify, watching youtube or using adibe photoshop recently. The code when the blue screen happens is VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. It immediately restarts after the blue screen. I checked device manager and there are no exclamation marks, bios is the latest version, nvdia is also updated and I also ran the system diagnosis which didnt show any issues. This started happening about a week ago. Is there anyway to fix this?

Hello,
1 Week ago was it on older nvidia drivers? (if it's only been occurring since the update go back to the older driver)
Also during the bluescreen it might show what crashes, so dll file. (which one?)
For a test, in the BIOS set the primary display to dGPU, this will force the nvidia one to be active and remove the switching from intel to nvidia. If this crashes and on an older driver then it's likely the nvidia GPU is causing the issue.

yea for the nvidia driver i updated it to latest a few days ago but it was after the bsod started. Is it possible that the power supply is the cause? Im not sure yet but usually when it happens when im on battery and Im currently doing work while charging and nothing has happened yet. I'll continue testing tho. I'll try to take a picture of the screen if the blue screen happens again. Thanks a lot

It could be power related but more the GFX card itself and its own power regulators, on battery it doesn't switch when in power saving mode so could be why.
And that's also the reason why at some point you should set the BIOS to dGPU to rule out the switching from Intel GPU to nvidia GPU being the issue. Obviously if it crashes like this it means the nvidia GPU is faulty.

noted. I'll test it out for a few days to see, thanks a lot
