ROG Social Media: Can't help the customer? Tell a little white lie!

I'm an owner of the G750 and I love it.
But... time for an upgrade.

Thought I'd at least try and ask Asus to help me not pay RRP.
Instead they tried to get away with a little white lie.
Can't let them get away with it! 🙂

I don't mind if I have less RAM/SSD... they're replaceable.
Can't replace the CPU/GPU.

I see that "stock" Alien 17 Gaming Laptop models range from $1899.99 (currently on sale) to $2999.99, and can easily run higher if you choose to customize your order. (Although the customization price offsets what you'd have to pay to upgrade it yourself after purchase.)

Specs for mobo, CPU, GPU, and display panel all look basically the same as ROG G752 models. Each laptop has a different keyboard, makes use of different features in the chipset, etc etc.

I think it's close but the ROG squeaks by as the better machine. I also think $3499 is hugely overpriced and the Alienware is a far better deal, especially since it allows customization and can't do any worse than Asus on support.

I just sidestepped wimpy laptops entirely and got my boss to pay for half of my new MSI gaming device, lol.
