Wow, that sucks, it could be your trackpad failed... at least that portion of it.
You could try swapping right/left functions with Smart Gesture and see if the left button can activate the right click function, and see if the "broken" right button can activate left click - that would isolate the problem to a physical button problem vs a strange avoidance of supporting right click function.
I did this and the left button functionality did not work on the right button - might seem like that proves it's a hardware problem, but that's not the case. I spun up VirtualBox on my machine (to try it in another OS) and both trackpad buttons work just fine. This tells me that the hardware is functioning properly. It seems that if Windows has some kind of conflict with the right click button and some other device (like the new SSD drive I installed) then swapping the left/right buttons in Windows via software doesn't prove anything, except that the right click button still has some kind of software config conflict.
In other words, don't send your laptop back yet, try something else (I've read on here to try re-installing the ASUS ATK software?). Just trying to save you shipping costs for a perfectly functioning laptop. You might want to try installing VirtualBox (from Oracle, it's free) and installing a different version of Windows, or even a Linux OS to see if both buttons work - that's what I did).
In the meantime, simply enable two-finger touch on your trackpad to make the right click work. For how little the right click gets used it's not that bad. Plus it will save your right click button from wearing out prematurely
🙂EDIT: just tried the fix suggested by EkoSama in this thread (see the post before this one) and it worked! No need to re-install any ATK s/w, just follow the instructions here:
