Restoring G75V with dual hard drives

I'm sorry to ask such a n00b question, but I'm attempting to reinstall Windows 7 on my G75 using the Asus recovery discs, because I don't really want to go through the hassle of doing a clean install and then hunting down Asus-specific files required. (Not this time, anyway.) However, I have two 750gb HHDs, and the AI recovery is complaining about the second one. Is there a way to disable it for the install, and then re-enable, or do I have to physically pull it? And if I do have to pull it, is it a simple matter of replacing it and the computer will recognize it as before, or is there more involved?

Its nagging you because if you leave it in the notebook, it will get formatted and you will lose your data. So take it out.
As to searching up driver for a clean install Asus Support Download there all there in one place. Win 7 64bit HP

There are so many updates to Win 7 HP that you will actually save time by Clean Installing Win 7 and have a much smother running OS

512 GB M.2 Samsung 960 Pro
1 TB Samsung 850 pro 2.5 format

Thanks very much for the info. If I do decide to do a clean install, should I just grab everything on the support page? Is there any particular order needed for the drivers, or can I just go down the list? And lastly, should I avoid messing with the BIOS, because I've noticed a lot of people mentioning problems after updating that? Thanks again for the help.

Yes I would avoid any BIOS above 210 on a VW mine runs great on 7 and 8.1 pro. Rewben thread has a line somewhere on which driver to install first plus a lot of other guides and tips. Read the whole thread and you won't have any problems. If you do the answer is most likely there.
Yes just download the latest version from Asus Support download. After you have everything working great you might want to upgrade the NVidia driver to the latest

Just out of curiosity, is it actually necessary to mess with the BIOS at all during a clean install? I have done an install on other systems, and I never actually changed anything before, is the reason I'm asking. The one thing that terrifies me is the idea of bricking my laptop. Quite frankly, if I can skip that particular step, I'll be happy to. 😄 Everything else seems doable, and I have a few backup options, like 3 DP Net and Slimdrivers, ready on standby.

No there is no reason to upgrade your BIOS beyond 210, There are some improvements I don't remember what they were but 210 is safe to update too but it is not required or necessary to clean Install window 7. Depends on when your was manufactured mine came with 207 updated it to 210 haven't gone past that because of all the bricked Notebooks.

A thousand thank you's for the help! I have one last stupid question, and I promise this is the last one. If I did a clean install, but wanted to keep my restore discs as an option, would I need to install AI Recovery as a program for them to be recognized? I do actually have a file for version 1.05 already, in case it is needed. I know the majority of the Asus utilities were on the support page, like FanChecker etc., but I don't recall seeing AI Recovery listed. Is there anything else that I might want that would require more hunting around for?

You shouldn't need to update the bios, no. I've fresh installed Win 7 multiple times on mine without messing with the bios, and not had any issues.

You will not need the AI Recovery Suite installed on your OS to use the AI Recovery Disk Set.
I used my recovery set to install to a new unformatted Intel 520 series SSD on my old G75VW, it worked without a problem.
I found that using a blank drive works the best (don't format the drive), just let the AI Recovery Disk Set do the formatting, and partitioning for you.
What I did was just uninstalled all the bloatware after the recovery was complete.
Then I used CCleaner Registry clean to remove the remnants of all the removed bloatware.

Here's a Youtube video on how to use the AI Recovery Disk Set to recover to a new drive (look at 5 minutes in) Link below.
