[RESOLVED] G75VX - Bios Update Failure - Black Screen Boot

EDIT: ISSUE RESOLVED - I removed some additional RAM installed in the system's expansion slots (they "were" working before the new bios) and BOOM-Shackalacka!, came on perfect after that! !!

There's also another great trick for fixing problematic ram that relates back to the old days of game cartridges- clean the gold connectors with a clean pencil eraser. No seriously, pull the ram, gently rub both ends of the gold connector to help clean/re-energize it. Had this repair over a dozen ram stick models for other systems. Whatever saves an RMA, saves the day.

Original Post Below for reference:
Hi, my system no longer boots past a black screen after updating the bios from v204 to v206 with the WinFlash Utility that claimed everything was a success.
Literally no screen (does not turn on) or keyboard comes on at all now! success my ass.

How do you fix this issue? Ironic the Bios Update was to resolve a monitor switching issue with FN-F8...possibly causing the very PROBLEM it was trying to FIX...

I've tried various startup keys and troubleshooting tricks to fix it without and luck yet.
The system has literally worked 100% before this update!

I updated the bios with the official 206 from the Asus G75VX support drivers page
WinFlash said everything checked out and updated it 100% - upon the restart...I've had a black screen with only 3 LEDs in the bottom left and power every since...

So far this troubleshooting hasn't worked:

- removed power and batter - held power button for 20 seconds to power cycle.
- booted power cable only.
- booted with HDMI external monitor - nothing
- pressed FN-F8 (monitor switch) rapidly during boot
- held FN-F8 (monitor switch) during boot
- held F2 during boot
- pressed F2 rapidly during boot
- held and rapidly pressed ESC during boot
- held and rapidly pressed CTRL+HOME during boot to restore the original BIOS firmware .BIN file located on the C: drive (it's on there, I double checked the C: drive with another computer. Definitely has G75VX.BIN on the C: Root.
- held CTRL+HOME and started the system, continued holding CTRL+HOME for over 60 seconds...nothing
booted with the latest bios v206 on a USB stick - held CTRL+HOME for 2 mins... left it on for 10 mins more...nothing but black and few LEDs.. restart, nothing.

Haven't tried these yet
haven't booted with a VGA monitor
haven't pulled / reseated all the ram and hdds << SHOULD HAVE TRIED THIS EARLIER... Remove that RAM! Of course! Basic hardware troubleshooting.

I wiped the original Asus recovery partitions from the HDD, however i made a full acronis backup of the entire disk beforehand in case I needed them later... should I restore all those partitions and then CTRL+HOME reflash it?

Hope it's not bricked! I Just set this baby up and loaded a bunch of steam games on it! >XD

I'm gonna restore the original partitions to the hdd and attempt another CTRL+HOME... wow this is horrible

Restart and hold down the Ctrl + Home.
Don't spam them!! hold them down until the Ezflash starts.

And delete Asus update from your notebook it is hazardous to your notebook.

You have verified that you have the G75VX.bin file on your the root of your hard drive. you might have to do it a couple of times as boot times are so fast. But yea hold down the Ctrl and Home keys

The failsafe method can not work if you don't have a BIOS G75VX.bin file on the root of your C:\ drive. If you don't have one, your going to have to get one on that drive somehow.

You can download several of the last few BIOS updates from Asus Support Downloads

2nd EDIT / UPDATE: ISSUE RESOLVED - Problematic RAM was the issue. removed the bad ram and booted like a champion.

EDIT / UPDATE: Still No Fix...
Held Ctrl+Home for 2 mins, waited 10 mins - nothing still. Tried 5 more times, nothing.
Tried v204 BIOS on FAT32 4GB USB Stick... nothing...tried all 4 USB ports, nothing
Have the original HDD with factory recovery partitions - put that in original SATA port - CTRL+HOME few more times, nothing.

Tried CTRL+Home about 15 times now without any changes... no LEDs flash, nothing.

I press the power and all I get is the Power Light, DVD Drive noise, and LEDS on the lower left. The HDD LED comes on a for a sec and goes off. Nothing else...screen stays turned off the whole time.

Conntected VGA and HDMI monitors...nothing....

it's reassuring to hear more confidence in the CTRL+HOME method.
What should I expect if this recovery is successful? How long should I wait with a black screen?
Does it reboot on its own and come on?

Getting a BIOS file on the hdd is definitely not an issue, I have the tools and additional systems.
It definitely needs to be renamed to G75VX.BIN correct? The latest is G75VXAS.206 - renamed it to G75VX.BIN. I'll try the older ones since this one isn't detecting - not seeing any activity on the HDD light or the USB stick light. Have it on both. I even removed the HDDs to only try the USB and still nothing.

Does it matter which CTRL key I hold? left or right? I figure the left, no? bit of a stretch, but my right hand will have the HOME held down exactly before-during-after power button is pressed, along with the CTRL. I've been trying both.

Does the ezFlash require the original factory recovery partitions?

Hope I don't need to use a USB SPI Flash Programmer or resolder a new BIOS chip to the board...but I'll do what it takes to get this bad boy back on. Maybe I need to pull out the CMOS battery for a min. I'll go to great lengths to get it back on before sending it out. Might have to swap the whole motherboard.
