Received G751JT today. Looking for help setting everything up correctly.

So I got my G751JT and I am super stoked to finally have it!

I did the quick install or whatever so that I could check for dead pixel and screen bleed. I don't think I have any of either. I didn't check for USB or speaker problems because I have read that is fixed with driver updates.

I have never used 3D Mark or anything to check the CPU and GPU temperatures (under a load like 3D mark I assume). I was wanting to check that before the next step...

Then the "next step" I was talking about was going to be after I tested everything for functionality, figuring out how to do a fresh install of Windows 8.1 without any other programs added. I am going to get a SSD, so I was going to install onto that.

I was looking at picking this SSD up at Best Buy tonight so I could do some of this tonight.
PNY - Optima 240GB Internal Serial ATA III Solid State Drive for Laptops - Multi
Model: SSD7SC240GOPT-RB SKU: 8193026
Cost: $90

Is there a better brand or recommended option for a SSD? I am looking to stay +/- $100 for around a 250gb SSD.

I have no experience wiping a computer and doing a fresh install of the operating system, but I have watched a guide on youtube for installing windows 8.1.

Hope to get some replies so I can get this thing running smooth soon!

Thanks!

You can use Winflash too (it is on the support page).

To get into the bios, I followed the steps in this video, it is short and directly to the point.

Boaz, I saw you had a thread about the latest g751jy drivers. Are those the recommended drivers to install after a fresh install of the operating system? I'm going through picking out what I think I need to download from the asus site, but I don't want to forget anything that I may need. Or should I just download almost everything? Like under wireless and bluetooth for example I don't know what I should download. Same with what is under "others" and "chipset"

well those are old now as i got told its better to use the asus ones so i recommend you to install all the drivers from the asus support page the only new driver u rly need is the nvidia ones from nvidia.com but i recommend you to go to guru3d and look there as they leak driver alot, but that is just me and what i think

Yeah, I am at the asus support page for drivers.

I just mean, should I install everything? Or what should I install or not install (whichever list is shortest). I have downloaded what I think I need from the utilities section, but other than that, I don't know what else I should download and install.

Edit: I have installed basically everything except stuff from the "Wireless", "Bluetooth", and "Others" subcategories on the page linked above. I don't know if I should download all of that stuff, none of it, or just one or two things?
Help with these late items would be great

I think I should do a backup with asus backtracker onto a flash drive soon. Does it create the same information that I made whenever I made a disk to do a fresh install of windows 8.1 or is it different?

Also if anyone knows what I should download from the above post in Wireless, Bluetooth, and Others, that would help

Here are my results from 3D Mark. I have updated NVIDIA drivers and shadowplay is off. How does this compare to what it should be doing?
