"Display Driver crashed and recovered"

I am experiencing crashing maybe at least 3 times a week and it's obnoxious. Would it be because i have the computer in high performance mode all the time?
I have all the latest drivers installed and i wish this problem would go away, not to mention having paid 1500 for a high performance laptop that crashes, it's unacceptable.
I have an ASUS g74S

any ideas would be welcome

I don't know about the OP but I installed RAGE about a month ago.

I installed crysis 2 a while ago. come to think of it this started when i updated from the stock driver to the latest they had out at the time 😕

I haven't installed either of those games, but did install DC Universe Online a couple of days before I reinstalled the drivers for the crashing. It only happens to me when I'm doing regular apps, like email and web. I've never had this issue while gaming.

I haven't had any temp issues, but I have noticed my G74 does get pretty dusty around the intake vents and I've ended up blowing it out every couple of weeks. I'm surprised at how much crap comes out when I do. Related? No clue.

That is the ATK package. You should uninstall and reinstall it.

I also have the occasional issue that the OP is having. It must be something about the drivers. In fact, I google this issue and some people are also having problems when with new Nvidia drivers and they end up reverting back to previous stable builds.

Clean install them. I guess people didn't see my post. I had these problems about 3 weeks ago for about 2 weeks. Did a clean install of my drivers (deleting them and installing fresh) and it fix my problem 100%. When I was going back to my older drivers, they were still crashing. So I clean installed with 285.XX beta (forget the number). Working flawlessly.
