Questions about ASUS ROG G752VS-XB78K: THunderbolt 3, 120Hz, Headphone jack

Hello guys,

Please clarify

[Not Solved] 1) Please advise if there is 120Hz panel support. I see only G-Sync and that's it. Though other sites says that it's 120Hz panel. I'm little bit confused as I do not see 120Hz support on store page http://store.asus.com/us/item/201608AM050000001
Answer: I have found ebay store which shares an info about 120Hz support on this notebook. Source: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-ROG-G752VS-GC107T-17-3-i7-Windows-10-Gaming-Notebook-Bundle-G752VS-GC10...
Proof: https://gyazo.com/c2ae6688578d691e3665035b03b0e63e
[Solved] 2) Is there a 3.5 jack for headphones? Found that there 2 different ports. Source: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-ROG-G752VS-XB78K-OC-Edition-GTX-1070-Gaming-Laptop-/222220896761?hash=i...
Proof: https://gyazo.com/1aef8b1b154377f2fe45d420fc2d82c8
[Not Solved] 3) Store page says that it has Thunderbolt 3 over USB 3.1 (Type-C). Are there 2 connectors: 1 Thunderbolt and 1 USB 3.1 (Type-C) or they are in 1 port USB 3.1 Type-C? Why am I asking about Thunderbolt? As I want to buy Razer Core in the future and put another desktop card in Asus ROG G752VS notebook http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-core
As for this one question I still have doubts. I found following info on store page: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-ROG-G752VS-XB78K-OC-Edition-GTX-1070-Gaming-Laptop-/222220896761?hash=i...
Proof: https://gyazo.com/5b10c9a90c6068717c2fa9dcb7d9a7b3

But will it be compatible with Razer Core?

Asus please provide more clear description in your store with much better photos. I will stick to MSI then if these questions will not be covered with clarifications. For example: Razer Core will not suit to Asus notebook

Guys if anyone knows answers for my questions I would be very appreciated for your input

Hey all of you. This is a user forum, you know users helping other users, very few Asus employees show up here at all and not that often. These G752VS are just coming out we don't know anymore that you do. From what I read on the Asus site they will have 75 Hz panels, I would expect if you want 120 Hz you wait until a vendor advertises they have one with 120 Hz. As always with Asus Gaming notebooks insure with your vendor exactly what you are going to receive and 30 days to send back it you don't get what they advertised.

If you wish to speak with someone that works for Asus Try Tech support 1-877-339-2787 or The Asus Store http://store.asus.com/us

Let's solve or try to solve your 1 and 3 question DJ_Cas, the following models G701 will have 120 HZ, G752 is not 120HZ, as you can see there are a lot of pages that can confirm that.

Proof:

http://www.hidevolution.com/asus-g701vi-xb72k.html
http://www.excaliberpc.com/647418/asus-g701vi-xb72k-17.3-g-sync-full.html
https://benstore.com.ph/asus/2599-asus-rog-g701vi-xb72k-173-gaming-laptop-g-sync-i7-6820hk-gtx-1080-...

Those ones will be avaliable at 27 of september 0f 2016.

The 3rd question:

Asus is working on their own eGPU Station named Asus XG2 Station, and they were using an Asus ZenBook and a Asus Transfomer laptops/tablets plugged to the station, I'm sure in the future
we will be able to plug an eGPU to our Asus G752/G701/GX800...

There's no more information about the Asus ROG XG2, no release date, no price, but with time we will know everything...

I'm planning to buy the ASUS G701VI-XB72K, I keep waiting until the release, let's see if alienware can offer something good too, alienware new laptops conference is at PAX WEST at 2 of september at 12:01 EST

You´re welcome!!!

Updated Info:

- The G701 Models will not have an HDD slot, only M.2.
- No DVD/CD slot, so you cannot use it for an HDD with an adapter.
- Avaliability delayed until Mid October.

Seems that Alienware Design doesn´t convince me, maybe until then new laptops will appear, at the moment I stick with the G701, what I dislike is the absence of HDD....

If you wish there are a few sites where you can see all the GTX 10 series laptops avaliable, I recommend:

There's is g752vs-ba177t at 120hz also...i know because I was thinking in buying it...1 x Notebook / Laptop ASUS Gaming 17.3'' ROG G752VS, FHD 120Hz, Procesor Intel® Core™ i7-6820HK (8M Cache, up to 3.60 GHz), 32GB DDR4, 1TB 7200 RPM + 256GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, Windows 10 Home
It comes with a free backpack asus rog nomad v2...I'm thinking is TN panel....it does say is LED backlit...and on other sites it also says is IPS...so confusing...
What is weird is that other models with 980m or 970m are more expensive than this one and they don't have the offer with the free backpack yet this model is so much cheaper...very odd...one might think...suspicious...

Yes, the numbers and letters beyond G752VS tell you what some vendor is selling, many vendors orders a block of notebooks specified to there requirements, which can mean Screen changes, RAM Changes, Hard Drive/SSD options. So you need to check out your supplier as to exactly what configurations he is selling. And get in in hard copy so that if they lie to you, you return it for not being what was advertised. Cheaper means less configured notebooks with the exception that some Retailer do run sales with sometimes $200 to $300 off Still you have to make the effort to insure you are buying what you think you are buying. All of these notebooks are not created equal not at all!!

I don't know about vendors...but i looked on all sites in my country...they...the laptops with that id...have the same model numbers and letters...and the same specifications...i ordered it...i just hope is not a TN panel..i wanted high refresh rate...but also to view from angles and a good color reproduction...
