Question about G750JX-DB71 with 256 GB SSD. Looks like only got 128 GB SSD.

Just setting up my new G750JX-DB7. I've got what looks like the HDD in 3 partitions. With the SSD in 1.

OS (C): 50 G free of 95.3 GB
Data 1 (D): 465 GB of 465 GB free
Data 2 (E): 465 GB of 465 GB free

DATA (F): 121 out of 121 GB free (I am assuming that this is the SSD)

My machine was supposed to have a 256 GB SSD. This is my first experience with an SSD. Could this be a factory error or am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated before I call tech support. Thanks!

Win+X --> Disk Management will show you the drives in your system along with their partitions.

Thanks so much. I just didn't expect the 256G SSD to be partitioned with the OS on 1 partition.

Yeah, mine came partitioned as well, which is really annoying. I was going to reformat it, but when I realized it didn't come with a windows 8 disk I delayed that idea. Now Im nearing the max on my boot disk with hardly anything on the F: disk, and I may need to just scrap everyhting and reinstall all my software, which is a chore.

Why would they come partitioned? Seems like a dumb choice for a default setup to me.

My G750 came with a partitioned HD, and when I got an SSD for the boot drive, I used EaseUS Partition Master to create a single partion on the C: drive.

Worked great, and it's free. Far easier than a reinstall...

Mine came with Win 8 already installed on a partitioned SSD. That means I would have to wipe the SSD including the system and the software installed. I could be wrong but I'm not aware of any software that can re-partition without formatting.
