Price/Release date of the newly announced ROG Chimera?

Really want to see a release date and price for this laptop. Excited for the announcement and may stick with Asus as long as the price is in line with the G701. Besides the sightly different chassis and display, the internal hardware is very similar. If they can keep this around $3k, I may go for it instead of trying the Acer Predator line.
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

Sweet thanks for that. Mid October. The G701VO I was looking at was a little over 3k. So this should fall right in line. I dont think it will be offered with anything less then a GTX 1080. It wouldnt make sense to utilize the 144Hz. Looking forward to when its released. 😄

78C peak temperature without gaming or stress test? That is rather bad imo...

This laptop has been released btw and is showing up @ retailers. I put in an order for one. We'll see how it is once it comes. A bit pricey as the one I picked up was $3499, but that's ok. We'll see if its worth..

Hi,

Received mine in switzerland model G703VI-E5060T. Delivered with Windows 10 Home, no backpack, no mouse and no headphones in the box. Really disappointed compared to my G751JY who got Windows 8 Pro and all accessories. Got stuttering sound issues and driver xbox wireless missing on asus support website (save all drivers with "dism" command before reinstall a fresh windows 10 or save "eSupport" directory). Will be my last asus product. Sound trouble too with Realtek drivers on G751JY when it was released. Look like asus is selling products without testing them !

Cheers.

Svan, sorry to hear that man. You're scaring me now. Haha. This is not a cheap laptop by any means. I would not be happy if I have the troubles you describe. So far I havent done much though, just getting it ready and copying over my steam folder. Hopefully I'll get some use in the next few days before the holiday weekend.

Just curious why did you reload? This factory install seems to be free of any bloat that I can see? The cleanest factory install I have come across.

I have to say the build quality to me so far is the best yet for a ROG laptop for me (which I would really expect for the price..). The brightness of the screen may be slightly less then the G752, but doable. The smoothness of scrolling is pretty amazing. A difference from the 75Hz GSYNC on the G752 for sure.

How locked down is the Bios? Do you have options like Loadline Calibration, negative voltage offsets, IA AC/DC Loadline (not the same as Loadline Calibration, one works on VID one works on vcore directly), Power Limit overrides, ICCMAx (CPU Current Limit), RSR, watchdog timer, DDR4 voltage, RAM timings, RAM multipliers, etc?
