PETITION: ASUS, please allow G-SYNC support on existing G751's!

ATTENTION, UPGRADE NOW AVAILABLE:
Please see ROG G751JY/JT G-SYNC upgrade program link below:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?82612-G-SYNC-Upgrade-on-ROG-G751JY-JT-Laptops-Now-Availabl...

Hello all,

Asus seems undecided on whether they're going to allow official G-SYNC support on the existing G751's purchased before now (? - I don't know the official date, they just said this month I believe).

Please "sign" this petition by posting... even if you don't think you'll need the feature, you'll want it someday, trust me.

ASUS: Even if there are licensing fees involved or whatever, if that is indeed the reason you wouldn't offer it to existing owners.. then at least let us pay the fee for it! Something... anything!

The amount of brand-loyalty to be gained from giving this feature to existing owners would build more goodwill than you're imagining. Market it! Tell the world that you were the first to give this major support release to existing owners!

Thanks!

Don't use this tool with old one, I already explain many time the reason why you shouldn't use both.
As I said, it provide more than the old tool.
Forget G-tools please, thank you.

Hi nab, Thank you for your work!
I haven't tried it yet except the previous G-tools! So I am still at 347.88 driver, g-tools and I am playing "windowed fullscreen borderless" mode only.
I had read your new site but I did not find the manual regarding enabling and using "g-sync equivalent" after nf-tools beta 3.0 installation.
So, cloud you please add few words / or correct the manual below?

1. Uninstall g-tools
2. reboot
3. Uninstall old 347.88 driver - best using DDU.
4. reboot
5. If Asus G751JY owner- then install the lataest Nvidia diver, yes?
6. reboot
7. Install NF tools (pick Nvidia).
8. To enable your better "G-sync equivalent" (I suppose that official G-sync is no longer available at the Nvidia driver?) one must do:
8.a ..... set what at NVidia dirver??? Vsync only?
8.b ..... it will be working now both at fullscreen and "windowed fullscreen borderless" mode? Or not?
8.c ..... how to test if it is working - does the Nvidia Pendulum demo would be working to test? If not what tool/game to use for testing

If it is really working then WOW!!!! I am speechless!
Best regards

G-tools time is over, don't expect any update for it. NF tools was create for specific reasons.
If you play Fullscreen borderless you don't need Gsync, the main reason is the extra layer under dwm (during composition), Gsync remain useless and NVIDIA mostly exploit this part to make Gsync work (actually it is false) but work in windowed/borderless mode.

I said, this is an alternative, it is not Gsync, read again, Gsync doesn't provide really anything, NVIDIA use extra layer and in most case variable refresh something that you could be able to reproduce with any hardware, they just put in place a way to charge for the partial work they did.

NF tools put in place extra layer using the swapchain/buffer solution in low-level (DXGI + Kernel Driver mode) this is work with DX9/DX10/DX11 the process is in place by default, it is on top of vsync/no sync.

Pendulum demo do not work because it use Gsync dedicated algo (cheating variable refresh). There is no tool to test, performance and improvement is general, all 3D/2D task should be improved a lot, again this is not the place to take about what exactly NF tools do, it is not Asus work or not related to them, it was mainly create to provide a general solution related to stutter/throttling/tearing/tdr/kernel issues etc... Kernel Driver gain more power and more low-level features that is necessary to a good stability, something that AMD/INTEL/NVIDA won't mention, this is mostly for business reasons and product future interest.

You should clearly see the difference in general use related to 2D/3D task, including UI animations, etc...
Check under program installed, you should see NF Tools, if you see NF Tools, all is good.
Play your games, do you homework etc...like usually, you would see a performance improvement up to 50/60% depending what you do. It is not necessary related to Frame gain but mostly related to how to deal with 3D surface/object, engine, etc... in a better way to make the experience more smooth.

Great thanks again, i've been using G-Tool for so long now, it was so annoying not to have the full/stable version and drivers restrictions. one more question i still can tweak nvidia settings to my liking? right? It won't interfere with NF tools?

You can tweak your NVIDIA settings as much as you want it won't make conflict with NF Tools.
Just follow how to install NF Tools.
G-tools was stable in a way, what make it unstable was NVIDIA security layer that make problem to use it with recent drivers, etc.
NF tools will be a better experience and much more stable, that include improvement even for stuff like youtube video etc..
There is a lot of NVIDIA users that had problem with youtube/twitch video and co
I mainly listen/read what issues the people had with their GPU and adapt NF Tools in the need of providing a strong solution

Yes G-Tool is stable, it's not what i meant, just had a bit too much black screen flickering on fullscreen even at 50/60 fps. I had to close almost every background softwares to limit that effect.. And i don't thik g-sync was working on windowed/borderless mode like it does on "official g-sync"..

Anyway thanks for this tool and all the work you've done! impressive!! I've correctly installed it and i will keep this and try somes games too..

the performance is amazing with tools nf
