https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?82612-G-SYNC-Upgrade-on-ROG-G751JY-JT-Laptops-Now-Availabl...

Hello all,

Asus seems undecided on whether they're going to allow official G-SYNC support on the existing G751's purchased before now (? - I don't know the official date, they just said this month I believe).

Please "sign" this petition by posting... even if you don't think you'll need the feature, you'll want it someday, trust me.

ASUS: Even if there are licensing fees involved or whatever, if that is indeed the reason you wouldn't offer it to existing owners.. then at least let us pay the fee for it! Something... anything!

The amount of brand-loyalty to be gained from giving this feature to existing owners would build more goodwill than you're imagining. Market it! Tell the world that you were the first to give this major support release to existing owners!

Thanks!

Still here, still waiting for oficial/unofficial G-Sync support on my G751JY (now with Win10).
Asus, are you still there?

Apparently they have forgotten us a long time ago mate. Anyways, G-Sync is a cool feature but as many said you shouldn't be upset just because of that. I'm hopping that someone will eventually find a backdoor to enable G-Sync on our "older" units. The most annoying part is that they didn't said anything by now. At least they should've told us "Guys, we're sorry but we won't be able to offer you G-Sync" and that would've solved a lot of broken hearts over here.

Totally agrre with you NitroX. I am not a fan of insulting Asus or being a troll about it. My G751JY is a great laptop even without G-Sync.
They couldat least interact with the community on this issue. At the end they will do what they wany, but there is a difference between IGNORING hundreds of buyers and explaining WHY they are not offering support on this issue. Really, the PR guy at Asus should al get fired right away...

Signed.

I'm afraid there is no issue. Simply put they didn't pay bribes to nVidia to add support for some 980m revisions 😉 ... Mine is 13D7, subsys 22DA1043:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13D7&SUBSYS_22DA1043&REV_A1\4&2660345B&0&0008

These should be all available 980m models:
NVIDIA_DEV.13D7.157D.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
NVIDIA_DEV.13D7.22DA.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
NVIDIA_DEV.1617.1CED.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
NVIDIA_DEV.1617.22DA.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"

If you have DEV_1617 G-Sync should work... ASUS guys are beggers and nVidia a mafia
