Posted this in the wrong thread before, so im posting it here.

I have an Asus ROG G750 JW that can be overclocked to 3.5 ghz, but im not sure how to do it, i have been reading guides on the internet and im just confused, i dont know when to stop and i dont know when ive reached 3.5 ghz. Here are the specs:

2 GB Video ram
12 GB ram
Windows 8
Intel i7
Geforce gtx 765m

I am using Asus GPU Tweak, I have the GPU Clock set to 997 whic is the highest it will go and the Memory Clock set to 5668 and my computer seems fine, its nice and cool but im unsure if im doing something wrong or what. I dont know if that is way to much or if its ok to go higher witht he memory, i dont want to damage my pc.

what is the question?

you're talking CPU and GPU?

There are threads on here for both, why not have a read... use Google to search IMO, the internal forum search is not too hlepful.

I'll even throw you a bone: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?38049-Guide-for-Overclocking-Maximum-Stability-amp-Performa...

just OC the GPU, the gain in CPU is not worth it 🙂 just undervolt that 4700hq and bang 5° less in charge 😄
Laptop : ASUS G750JW : i7 4700HQ - 16Gb - 2Tb HDD - GTX 765M OC (+135/500) - Full HD Matte - Win 8.1
Retiered : Toshiba L670 i5 560M/8Gb Corsair/1TB/HD5650 1Gb @ 625/800 /WD 1Tb USB3/Win7

It depends on the application / benchmark, but OC'ing the CPU is a measureable improvement - and if you undervolt you get the OC for "free" - thermally speaking 🙂
