Hey, everyone. I have an Asus G75VW that I've been having trouble with recently, and I'm hoping you can help me.
I was trying to reinstall Windows 8.1 and, while changing the boot order, accidentally reset BIOS to default settings. Before exiting, I noticed that it was no longer detecting the hard drive correctly (generic "hard drive" instead of model info). Upon rebooting, it was no longer displaying a splash screen. The keyboard lights still light up, and the CPU fan spins up, but it's completely non-responsive otherwise.
I attempted a reset by disconnecting the CMOS battery for 10 minutes, but to no avail. I also disconnected the memory, looking for some diagnostic beeps. It didn't make any noise, but oddly, the keyboard lights stopped coming on until I replaced the RAM. After that, I disconnected all the peripherals that I could (hard drive, optical, keyboard, touchpad, etc). Still no response though.
At this point, I'm out of ideas, so I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced a similar issue or knows any other possible solutions. I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks.
