New Upcoming G Series Laptops?

Hi, I was wondering if any thinks that a new Asus G laptop will come out soon. Currently, I've seen rumours of the Asus G750 possibly coming with the new Haswell cpu and GT700 series from Nvidia.

As of now, I am looking into buying an Asus G75VX($1299) by the end of April. Should I bother buying it then, or just wait and see if a new 17" comes out?

Thank you.

haha, honestly Matte is nice but it isn't a premium finish Screen. the glossy one on g74sx was so much crisp and sharper than the g75 ones. kinda sad ;(

If it has a matte screen again then I will be getting an Alienware

aw m17 with 3840qm and 680m is 'hot' (cpu and gpu temperatures) even it's idle (fan starts to scream after a while during in-game). the one with 3740qm and 660m is similar to g55 in terms of temperatures. the sweet stuffs are recon3di sound, and klipsch speakers.

but the thing i like most is the customization part; super easy.

I am impatient so I went with getting an Alienware M17x from Dell.

$1500
i7 3740QM
AMD Radeon HD 7970M
8GB RAM
500GB 7200RPM HDD
Killer Wireless-N 1103
1080P Screen

Used a coupon and haggled down the rest.

That is a pretty sweet system, to be honest, but what are the temps like? I agree with the others on here who are asking ASUS for a more user-service-friendly system. That would be the best possible upgrade, since we could then do it ourselves with ease. Sure, on the ultrabooks and related systems, it is really not an option, but on gaming systems, allow the user to upgrade himself.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

After installing an mSATA in my old G55 I definitely wanted something more user-upradeable. I wen't with a Clevo P150em and I love it! I ended up ordering it bare-bone to save a lot of money. (Well kind of). It came with an i7 3630 and I splurged for the GTX 680m. There was no RAM, HDD, OS. I figured why pay for it when I am going to change the RAM, HDD to a SSD, and now I have my own install disk. 🙂

I could have upgraded the processor as well, but the 0.X gain to price ratio is retarded in my opinion.

I dont think hasswell is worth the wait i mean they said it was going to have 2 hyperthreads per core (it doesnt) and on top of that they are still just gearing there stuff for ultrabooks and tablets so the graphics got another boost but what is the x86 like.

And 770m is confirmed rebrand 😕

lol and why alienware dell is going out of bizz
