New G752 Prices...umm...Yikes?

I've been checking out a lot of sites about pricing of the new G752's coming out this month and I gotta tell ya if what I'm seeing is true I'll be looking into MSI

I don't mind paying list price for a new laptop release but some of the prices are really high. I trust Asus will not take advantage of us loyal followers and "maybe purchasers" of their new product.

We want the latest and greatest but we have limits to what we expect to shell out for a new laptop with a new skin with basically the same specs as the older machines.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep my wallet in my pocket for now...we will see

ASUS...DON'T SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE FOOT WITH THIS....PLEASE

I'm quite shocked at this lineup, usually the ASUS ROG's are amazing, I have bought 3 ASUS laptops so far. Now I need to upgrade again, and it looks like I'm going for an MSI Titan, I know it's huge and heavy, but damn that's a machine. Only downside is the screen.

G752VL-DH71: i7-6700HQ, GTX965M 2GB, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, $1,499.00
G752VT-DH72: i7-6700HQ, GTX970M 3GB, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $1,799.00
G752VT-DH74: i7-6700HQ, GTX970M 3GB, 24GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $1,999.00
G752VY-RH71: i7-6700HQ, GTX980M 4GB, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $1,999.00
G752VY-DH72: i7-6700HQ, GTX980M 4GB, 32GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $2,599.00 (No 256GB SSD??? )
G752VY-DH78K: i7-6820HK, GTX980M 8GB, 64GB RAM, 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $3,499.00

MSI GT72S Dominator Pro G Dragon-004: i7-6820HK, GTX980 Desktop GPU 8GB, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $3,099.00 (Gentech PC)

In conclusion: G752VT-DH74 doomed, G752VY-DH78K doomed

Before opening your wallet, remember: Thunderbolt 3 eGPU is coming. 🙂

Gtx980 version is over priced still MSI Is remarkable compared to g752 in price. 4k display is nice for desktop use but very terrible for those gpus in gaming and those 2 gpus are not even new we already have them.

I would wait for pascal.
Even a single gtx980 cant handle 4k one would need to down scale to 1080p to get 60 fps and get worse image quality.

Theoritacally speaking those are nice new laptops but with their own issues. MSI gtx980 Beats them all thought..

128gb SSD is way too small for a laptop.

Yep it looks like its going to be the G752VY DH-72, but I going with Xtopic and getting the IC Diamond pasting and 256GB NME SSD 16 GB Ram. I don't game so I don't think I'll miss the 4Gb less Video ram or the lesser CPU I don't think I'll miss them for my Desktop replacement.

I can't but will wait till we start getting some user in here, so we can know if they fixed the USB 3.0, sound and drive bay set ups.

Can I have a picture of your gold toilet?

G752VY-DH72: i7-6700HQ, GTX980M 4GB, 16GB RAM (downgraded from 32GB), 256GB SSD (upgraded from 128GB) + 1TB HDD, $2599 - $70 + $179 (Samsung XP941 -> 10Gb/s) or $210 (Samsung SM951) = $2708 or $2739 (excluded thermal compound: $35)

G752VY-RH71: i7-6700HQ, GTX980M 4GB, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $1,999.00
Which means $709 or $740 to buy a 256GB SSD and cry for the lack of IC Diamond thermal compound.

And just to understand why ASUS will not sell a lot of G752VY:
MSI GT72S Dominator Pro G Dragon-004 (not a good notebook for OC, but cheap as hell): i7-6820HK, GTX980 Desktop GPU 8GB, 16GB RAM (downgraded from 32GB), 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, $3,029.99 (Xotic PC)

Forums are to complain or find solutions, not to express happiness.

Not so these forums are for everyone although we don't see a lot of Happiness expressions.

Ya, noticed this too and honestly wish I could have the same specs but at least a 256 GB SSD or 512 would be preferable. I don't need more than 16GB ram or a blu ray drive.
