New (?) G751 missing default preinstalls

I posted this over at Notebookforum, but I thought this was a better place for my question.

Yesterday, I went out and bought a G751JY-DB72 as an upgrade from my five-year-old G73JH.

The system in question was an open box, which means I got a 5% discount on top of a $500 price match.

When I got it home, I discovered it had already been updated to Windows 10 from the 8.1 it was supposed to have. That doesn't bother me.

What I am curious about is the fact the system seems to be missing all of the pre-installed Asus software/tools/whatnot.

My question is this: should I be happy about this or should I complain to the store where I bought it?

As far as I could tell, it was a clean Windows 10 install on the unit.

Ah yes, recovery disks you can buy compared to the days when you used to get the OEM disks alongside the system purchase. I could go off on a rant about that, but I won't.

I'm happy to give rep for the help you provided, so you're welcome. Thanks for the rep in return!

I should note the 3DMark benchmarks I posted had me a bit concerned afterwards when I compared them to what others have gotten, but I realized later that I ran those one after the other, and all after Furmark, so the numbers were a little skewed. Also, I didn't have my Nvidia drivers set to performance. New tests today were within the ranges I've seen elsewhere.

I think this lappy's a keeper despite the open box purchase.
