The Maxwell 880m has already been announced, it's on the high-end new 750 model. As for the Intel CPU's and DDR4, Broadwell is supposed to be coming to laptops this year and I do not know yet, but I don't think DDR4 is going to be in laptops this year. I know DDR4 is coming with Haswell-E Desktop CPU's, but I haven't heard anything about Broadwell's Memory Capabilities.

The GeForce GTX 880M is a Kepler-based card. I haven't heard of a Maxwell 880M yet so where do you have that info from ?

The JM still is not available in Canada..
Laptop : ASUS G750JW : i7 4700HQ - 16Gb - 2Tb HDD - GTX 765M OC (+135/500) - Full HD Matte - Win 8.1
Retiered : Toshiba L670 i5 560M/8Gb Corsair/1TB/HD5650 1Gb @ 625/800 /WD 1Tb USB3/Win7

My question is,
I've got the 2012 G75VX with the 670MX.

Now i would like to get the Laptop with the 870m.

From you guys, knowledge which would still be better?

even though the 870 is new would it run just as well as a 670mx.

These comments could seem silly but that shows my lack of knowledge.

Many thanks.

Intel® Core™ i7 3630QM Processor
Windows 8
16GB DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM (Hynix+Kingston)
17.3" HD+ EWV (1600 x 900)/Full HD (1920x1080)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670MX with 3GB GDDR5 VRAM
Hitachi 1TB HDD
Unknown 256GB SSD
Blu-Ray_RW

The 870M will crush the 670MX +70% performance in 3dm 11 if i remember..
but you have to know that it will generate more heat as well, the G750 cooling solution is the best in the market so dont be afraid of the heat 🙂
You just have to think about waiting for the 870MX (20nm maxwell) to be released some day (q3/q4 may be) or just stick with the 870M 🙂

The Maxwell, does this have an increase in performance or just a new generation, with battery saving and less heat produced?

Maxwell will be twice faster when the fab process will be 20nm 🙂
Expect 780 Ti underclocked performance in 100W High End GPU 🙂
