Noted, with thanks.
From what I got is that the wireless module is the Killer N 1202 but better confirm during purchase.
Oh, one more question... The G750 keyboard backlit is programmable to variable of colors range right? Just notice the new G751 is limited to Red backlit only...

xyz_cityhunter, the wireless seems to vary with model variant, so yes, ask them to read off what it is from the side of the box - the inventory list of components in the one they are actually shipping you.

The G750 back-light is single color white, which I like. Not so sure about the G751 Red light (better in the dark?) and Red color labeling, I will need to see it in person. Not a fan of disco lights on my laptop keyboard - too distracting, but I have built them into windowed desktops - both colored and white lighting - sound driven, like disco 😉

Let us know what you end up getting 🙂

Oh, single color white huh... The white color is kind of harsh on the eye when you're using it in a dark room, not sure if you can adjust the brightness of it but on my previous laptop which was the Lenovo Y580, there was no brightness control so it tends to be quite annoying. Might want to see the price range for the new G751 then only decide which one I would go for. I can live with the G750JM as I'm not a heavy gamer but that white keyboard might just have make me to reconsider the G751 which have the warmer red backlight, and also newer design... 😛

xyz_cityhunter, you can set various levels of the backlight, including off, which is how I run it. I use an external keyboard with blue lighting, or a wireless keyboard with no backlight - been typing a long time, I find the backlight on every key is distracting, a simple home reference would be enough to center my hands on the right placement. When it is lighted I tend to look - which slows down my typing.

Some G751 models may be tough to get - IDK how many 970m/980m's are available, so if you find a configuration you like, snap it up right away 🙂

Will wait for it launched in my country, as of now there's only the G750 available at the moment. Not particularly in a hurry for upgrade so I still can wait for it, just doing some research for the moment... 🙂

hmscott, would like to ask if you know of this on G750JM. The specs given online here: http://www.asus.com/my/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ROG_G750JM/specifications/ and the one that I saw stated with 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD while my question is that 256GB SSD is 2 x 128GB NGFF type in RAID0 or just a single unit normal SATA type? Would like to know how much space that i can use so that I can plan for some alternative SSD with larger capacity if it is in the RAID0 configuration...

Sorry forum,

I had seen the new G751 and I had read the new utilities on Asus's web page. Gaming center, Rog gaming first 3, Asus Splendid 3.0, etc...
I wonder if you should upgrade these utilities as the G750jz page does not include these updates. Thank you for any answers.

zoommircea, do you have the latest version of CPU-Z? Often 3rd party tools like CPU-Z, hwinfo, aida64, speccy, etc get something wrong. So it is good to have more than 1 such tool loaded to verify / compare readings.

Just because a tool like that gets something wrong, doesn't mean everything else is suspect, it just means humans are fallible 🙂

Send their support a note explaining the details as detailed as possible, what you have, what their tool is showing, and how it is wrong and what the right answer should be. And be persistent. If you don't hear back in 2 weeks, email or submit a report via their website again.

It took me 1 year to get Futuremark to change the details on the 4700HQ to correctly list the specs - they had crossed it up with the 4700MQ. It took 4-5 months to get fixed, they did email me several times in between explaining why they couldn't fix it right away - some guy was on a long vacation - then the guy came back and fixed it - about 6 months later I noticed it was wrong again - they had a crash and a restore and restored the bad info 🙂

Try a couple of other tools as mentioned above, and let us know which ones are correct.

TechPowerUp GPU-Z is most likely to get it correct, they focus on GPU's, and have an ROG skinned version:

open the panel at the bottom and verify the model of the ram and buy the same exact version from amazon or another trusted source. I had the 8 GB version and bought two 4 GB sticks with the same model number. Hmscott or another user may have more info on using different brands.
