New G750JH BSODing Out of the Box!

So I just got my new laptop a few days ago. I had a G73JH for two years and loved its rock solid stability after I repasted it and enjoyed much lower temperatures.

This one, however, has been quite the opposite. It crashes randomly, regardless of what I am doing. I'm on my second install of Windows 8 (which I hate, btw) and it is still happening. I downloaded the debugging tools for Windows 8 on the previous install and although the dump said I had bad symbols (?) throughout, it ended with "probably iaStorA.sys" as the problem.

I tried uninstalling all drivers to my SSD and HDD, removing the intel controllers and restarting, at which point, if anything, the system became even more unstable to the point of BSODing before I could log in, in succession until it suggested automatic repair, and eventually lead me to doing a reset of the PC.

I'm aware I should check my RAM, but I write this in hopes that somebody has had this same problem with their G750 out of the box and was able to fix it via software before I go about putting this laptop in a corner for a couple hours running memtest.

I'm willing to try anything to get this fixed; perhaps I missed a step in dealing with the iaStorA.sys file properly.. I even at one point renamed it to iaStorA.old, in an attempt to circumvent it, although I did not touch iaStorV.sys, which I imagine is also involved.

Tips and tricks appreciated; I'll upload a copy of a dump if somebody would like to see it.

You can bet I'm going to try to get a new one if I don't get this sorted by tomorrow when they open. It just seems like a software issue that I'm not catching, I am still hopeful somebody has had this issue and resolved it without going into a store and being pretty unhappy about a product that was purchased. I'm all for trying to figure it out.

Personally I wouldn't be bothered stuffing around with it, you should be enjoying it mate. Take it back, and get it replaced with another. I would have if my JH was BSODing out of the box.

If you still have your recovery partitions, I would try Asus Backtracker.

Backtracker has a setting where you can reset everything as it came out of the box. If that doesn’t work I would take it back.

i think you just bought somedays, it can be refound or change other, no need to spend time to find answer.

Yeah you should probably just take it back. Not worth risking your time to not even find a fix or only temporary fix it until you cant exchange it anymore.

Solution to the problem:

Even though not included in the ASUS Drivers package that came preinstalled with this notebook, including after doing a "Reset of the PC," the iaStorA.sys file was outdated. It is used by the SATA AHCI Controller by Intel which was "of the most recent version" if you try to download it specifically from Intels website, but it is also used in the Intel RST RAID Controller, which uses the same file (iaStorA.sys) and yet, has a newer version of it.

The problem is that ASUS does not include the updated version of iaStorA.sys with its AHCI Controller and it was conflicting as a DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION and causing BSODs. Installing the RAID Controller has stopped all BSODs, even though I am not running a raid configuration at all; even in BIOS.
