New Crack under Right vent and Left Fan on high

Hi Guys:

This morning i turned on my G750jh and i noticed the noise of the left Fan... i never heard it before, i was always so proud that i couldnt hear absolutely no noise at all from the fans. So i turned it off, and started to inspect it. Then i saw this new Crack on the right Vent!? i treat my laptop better than i treat my self, ive had it for no longer than 3 weeks and i have never even breath to hard next to it! so its not because i dropped it or bumped it or nothing like that.

I managed to put the structure back in place, but the noise coming from the left ( as if u have ur rog in front of u for use) didnt go away...

I checked if there was any application making the system hot but nothing. This is the HWMonitor report:

I did go to the BIOS and loaded the optimal settings, but no change.
So I dont understand why suddenly today only the Left Fan decided to go on High while the right Fan is on vacations... I also can hear the HDD clicking... it never did that before...

Should i just sent it back? get a new one? and why would it get a crack?? Did the NSA get to my laptop while i was away?

It looks like a stress crack - probably was a fault already in the plastic before assembly. I would return it to the seller/store or RMA with Asus. I would stress with Asus that this crack appeared on it's own and was not the result of an accident - otherwise Asus might count this as your 1 accidental damage claim.

I went through that with my first Kindle - it also developed a stress crack in the screen caused by the clips that held it in place - it took a number of calls to get it right, and apparently lots of other complaints from new kindle owners.

I wouldn't let this problem be unaddressed for long, the quicker you report it from the day of purchase, the better.

BTW, I have been toting my G750JH around in a laptop bag for weeks, and although I treat it well, there have been a few rough landings, and I haven't seen any mars or damage - that plastic is quite tough.

Thank you hmscott. Yeah i think i should return it 😕 But its also so weird that only the left Fan gets on High... This laptop does have 2 fans right? there shouldnt be only one working... or am i wrong?

What exact model of ROG do you have? Juts curious as i have the G750JW DB-71 and my vents dont have that smaller extra vent under the main vent. Just curious if that is a difference between the JW and JH.

The JH has slightly wider vents than JX/JW due to the hotter 780M card.

I have the G750jh. Got it from amazon in USA. I saw those bent fins, but coming from replacing 2 MSI GT70 because they would BOTH keep BSODing on me... i just thought... well this one actually works, i dont care if those fins are a little bent.

This will be the 3! laptop i have to sent back! really? ... how can i have so much luck? 😕

The laptop still works perfectly, im just concerned about just one fan working, and that whatever caused the crack might no be done messing the laptop up.

Do you guys hear the fans working while just doing some inet browsing? do you guys hear both speeding up? can you feel the air coming out from both "exhausts'?
