Need Help With Clean Windows Install

Hey everyone,

I'm attempting to do a clean windows install on my G74Sx. My problem is that when I hit install on the windows installer, a message pops up telling me that it can't find the CD/DVD drivers and asks me to look for them. I have looked everywhere trying to find out what I need to do, but can't find a clear answer. Thanks for your help.

I had the same thing happen to me. I thought it was strange Windows was asking for the CD/DVD driver when I was installing from a DVD that Windows was reading through the use of THAT driver.

A little internet research indicated my installation media was probably bad. I downloaded the Windows 7 .ISO file again and burned it to a new DVD at a slower speed, and that resolved it.

Thank you for your help! I finally got it to work.

I had already downloaded it 3 times before from three different locations, so I wasn't sure what the problem was. Turns out google chrome and/or my AVG was accelerating the download or something of the sort. I had to break out Internet Explorer to get the ISO to download properly :mad:
